The Magisters' Terrace (commonly referred to as just the Terrace) was Malygos's main battleship up until the Battle of BZPower.

Description[edit | edit source]

The version of the Terrace that preceded version 2.5 had a red color scheme. The Terrace 2.5 had a purple color scheme[1] and was designed by Dr. Doppler.[2] Malygos once claimed that Darkmount was just a "cheap copy" of the Terrace, but he did not elaborate.[3] The Terrace was equipped with a main cannon,[4] an EMP shockwave emitter,[5] arcane and proton missiles,[6] and warp rays that fired prismatic beams that were attached to robotic arms.[7]

History[edit | edit source]

Earlier Terraces[edit | edit source]

In 100,080 CMT, Blackout engaged Malygos in combat aboard the Magisters' Terrace. When it became clear that they were too equally matched for either of them to win the battle outright, Blackout ominously invited Malygos to return to the Matoran Universe, because "it had changed so much, [Malygos] would never recognize it again", before teleporting back to Darkmount.[8]

On one of the occasions where Ynot shattered the fourth wall, the rupture allowed to Xonyt to escape from the Internet Dimension and come after Ynot, who Xonyt eventually found aboard the Terrace.[9]

Unveiling the Terrace 2.5[edit | edit source]

In 150,080 CMT, Malygos transported himself, Captain Silver, Dr. Doppler, Duke Hydraxis, Emil Castlanger, Richter Abend, and Tyrigosa to the control room of the Terrace 2.5 via a spatial rift and used a Dimensional Maw spell to forcibly summon Zev Raregroove in order to ask him what kind of information he wanted in return for the "gifts" he had previously promised Malygos.[1] After educating Malygos on the existence of Washu Hakubi, Zev asked him if he knew what a Stand Arrow was.[10] Malygos replied that he did not,[11] so Zev pulled a Stand Arrow out of his cape and asked Malygos a follow-up question: "Which do I prefer, blondes, brunettes, or redheads?".[12] When Malygos replied "I dunno, blonde?",[13] Zev was so insulted that he jammed the Stand Arrow into his tailbone, creating Malygos's Stand: Witchy Woman. In order to find out what Witchy Woman's abilities were, Zev summoned his own Stand, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, which he then used to attack her.[14] After Witchy Woman defeated D4C by using her ability to disable anomalies, Zev teleported onto the Sōja and left Malygos a prize: The Arnath Glyphs, which Zev claimed could teach him many things, including matter-to-energy conversion. However, in classic Zev fashion, he also revealed that he had imbued Malygos with another power (the ability to create Lighthawk Wings), which Zev stated was likely to create an explosion that would destroy the planet that the Terrace was on unless Malygos was able to control it in time.[15] Malygos telepathically asked Washu to dampen the power inside him, and to his surprise, she did, which enabled Malygos to promptly teleport onto the Sōja to exact revenge on Zev.[16]

After a duel between Malygos and Zev, Washu introduced herself to Malygos and told him that she would train him in the art of Lighthawk Wings, before opening a portal for him to return to the Terrace.[17] Malygos returned to the Terrace and began reading The Arnath Glypths.[18]

The Pandorica Opens[edit | edit source]

When Blackout revealed that he planned to activate the Pandorica and destroy the multiverse so that he could cross over into the Internet Dimension and confront the Architect,[19] Malygos teleported himself, Anzu, Dr. Doppler, and Tyrigosa from the Shadows and Fire Dimension back to the Terrace to prepare for battle. Malygos then generated a spatial rift that transported the Terrace and the rest of the Dominion's fleet to Darkmount. While the other ships opened fire with their own weapons, the main cannon of the Terrace fired an Arcane Pulse that was ten times its regular strength at Darkmount.[4] Although the blast was mostly blocked by Darkmount's shields, the force of it pushed Darkmount through the dimensional tear that the Pandorica had torn in the fourth wall, causing Darkmount to appear above BZPower.[20]

The Terrace pursued Darkmount through the tear and released an EMP shockwave that disabled the enemy ship's shields while the other Dominion ships followed from the rear with shots from their particle beam cannons.[5] Darkmount released a number of defense drones against the Dominion fleet[21] that destroyed some of the smaller ships and lightly damaged the Terrace, forcing Malygos to send out another EMP shockwave that disabled all electronic devices nearby (including some of the Dominion ships that ran on electricity instead of magic) in order to deactivate the drones. The Terrace then fired a barrage of arcane and proton missiles at Darkmount,[6] but the missiles were blocked by Darkmount's shields as they came back online. After Darkmount released another wave of defense drones and fired several shots at the Terrace from its main cannon,[22] the battle was joined by the Wigwam, whose Slayer Cannon destroyed Darkmount's shield generator in a single blast.[23] Before the Terrace could return fire at Darkmount, the battle was interrupted by a ship that carried Black Six, who ordered them all to stop fighting.[24] Malygos agreed to stand down[25] and set the Terrace to follow Black Six to the Reference Desk,[26] but he, Doppler, Emil, Hydraxis, Richter, Silver, and Tyrigosa sneakily left the Terrace to explore the surface of BZPower before the ship could arrive at its destination.[27]

Later, Malygos summoned the entire Dominion fleet, including the Terrace, back to his location on BZPower to help combat the massive amalgam fleet of ships that Blackout had created with the Architect's computer. Dr. Doppler rounded up all of the allies of Malygos and Ynot who were present and teleported them onto the Terrace,[28] where Ynot decided to wait out the battle due to being "too old for this".[29] While the Dominion fleet began to destroy Blackout's ships,[30] Malygos announced that he would unveil the latest addition to the Terrace. On his mark, three panels on each side of the Terrace opened to allow several warp rays attached to robotic arms to unfold out of the ship. The warp rays then proceeded to fire prismatic beams at Blackout's fleet, destroying a full third of his ships in the ensuing barrage.[7]
