The Sefer Yetzirah of the Original Universe is a young and mysterious woman. She is Emperor of the Takemikazuchi Empire and leader of the Shinsengumi, and plays a key part in Gabriel Ascheron's plans for universal domination, apparently being needed to activate the Fruit of Knowledge. She possesses the Fruit of Life, and is responsible for unleashing the Stands upon the Original Universe. As such, she possesses the original Stand; Cruel Angel's Thesis.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Sefer is charismatic and collected, with a serious demeanor which belies her youthful appearance. This, combined with her confidence, is a major part of her success as leader of the Shinsengumi. She is manipulative, preferring subtle persuasion, and firmly believes that a few well-placed words can affect the outcome of any situation. As such, she can be seen as the ice to Gabriel Ascheron's fire.

Sefer is apparently extremely intelligent, being able to design the technology for the Lurian fleet re-organization project by herself; designs included a mass-production variant of the Icarus weapon, city-scale replicators and multiple infinite energy drive designs. Ascheron suspects she may have stolen these designs, but acknowledges their usefulness regardless. She also fully understands the nature of the Stands.

Ascheron suggests that Sefer supports the Republic because her and it share a common goal; it is not currently known what this is.

Sefer is a Spacenoid, having been born aboard the starship Merkava. She didn't experience terrestrial gravity until she was already a teenager, having lived her entire life in the gravity-less environment of space, and only occasionally experiencing the artificial gravity of stations and ships which had it enabled. She doesn't like the feeling of true gravity, and prefers to be in space.

History[edit | edit source]

We're Shinsengumi Lunatics![edit | edit source]

Sefer is featured in the short story We're Shinsengumi Lunatics!, which takes place before her introduction in the main RPG. She's first shown during negotations with the Neo Ta'har. After they refuse an alliance with the Shinsengumi, she summons her Stand to demonstrate the strength of the Fruit of Life. A Ta'har guard attacked Cruel Angel's Thesis, revealing its power; instead of the user being damaged when the Stand is hurt, the attacker is. After securing an alliance with the Neo Ta'har on the promise of the use of the Fruit of Life, Sefer and her companions return to the Kusanagi, but are accosted along the way by Cassius Calm, who sensed her evil intent and challenged her to a duel. She easily defeated the monk - a feat Lucy Farr would later attempt, and fail, to recreate. When Lucy asks why she didn't use her Stand, Sefer reveals that she doesn't have full control over it - she didn't want to kill Cassius, as she recognized he had no intention of killing her, and therefore took him out herself. Cruel Angel's Thesis would have attempted to kill him, sensing him as a threat to Sefer, and by extension, itself. Furthermore, she revealed that Cruel Angel's Thesis has the ability to possess her - though she can fight it to some extent. She suggested to Lucy that her family was killed by her after she was possessed by Cruel Angel's Thesis. After this, they return to the Kusanagi, and leave for the Republic of Luria.

The Conflict Begins: Original Sin[edit | edit source]

Sefer was present on the Assault Shadow even before Ascheron's voyage into Guf. During this time, and after, she had free access to all areas of the ship, including the bridge, throne room and meeting room.

The Speech[edit | edit source]

Immediately after Ascheron gave his speech to the Republic of Luria, he returned to his quarters, and found Sefer there. The two shared a drink, over which they discussed the morality of his actions, with Sefer suggesting he was a nihilist. Ascheron suggested she was no different, but she disagreed.

Sefer was only actually named during the following post. Altian informed Ascheron that his crew were suspicious of her, at which point Ascheron revealed Sefer's identity, as well as her contributions to the Lurian fleet re-organization project. However, Ascheron also stated that he believed Sefer would become the greatest threat Luria would ever face.

Stand Alone Complex[edit | edit source]

Sefer later left the Assault Shadow and returned to the Shinsengumi vesssel Kusanagi. She briefly checked on the status of the Fruit of Life, summoning her Stand, Cruel Angel's Thesis.

She later arrived at Sapsa, to conduct negotiations with the Sahagin. She teleported aboard a Sahagin vessel, and ordered the other Shinsengumi to remain in orbit of the planet, leaving her alone.

Relationships[edit | edit source]

As leader of the Republic of Luria, with whom the Shinsengumi are allied with, Ascheron and Sefer are political and military allies. Their relationship is summarized as such; each believes the other to be completely inferior to themselves, but would never say it to the other's face. Sefer believes Gabriel is headstrong and unintelligent, and too prone to acting on emotion to be a good leader. Ascheron believes Sefer to be manipulative and untrustworthy. In spite of this, they manage to co-operate in pursuit of common goals.

Lilith is Sefer's girlfriend, a member of the Shinsengumi, and one of her closest friends. The two have a conventional, healthy relationship.

Lucy is a member of the Shinsengumi, and one of Sefer's closest friends and allies. Lucy's privy to some of the darker secrets of Sefer's existence, which she hasn't even hasn't even shared with Lilith - an example being the true nature of her Stand, Cruel Angel's Thesis. The two appear to share some kind of bond.

Abilities & Powers[edit | edit source]

  • Teleportation - One of Sefer's more remarkable abilities is her teleportation ability. She can transport herself seemingly infinite distances, as well as teleporting whilst in FTL space-time (meaning she can teleport to other planes of reality), and bypass seemingly any measure of teleportation-blocking. Her teleports are always accompanied by a menacing red light, often manifesting as a violent burst of energy.
  • Stand Usage - Sefer is a Stand user, and therefore can summon a Stand.
  • Waterbreathing - Despite possessing no biological or mechanical augmentations, Sefer can somehow breathe underwater. It's highly likely that this is a side-effect of using the Fruit of Life.
  • Pressure - Whether or not this counts as a power or not is arguable, but what's certainly clear is that Sefer is one of the greatest sources of mental pressure in the known universe. This pressure can be sensed from any distance by individuals who are sensitive to it, such as Damian Lewis and Captain Eurobeat. It's a side effect of her immense psychic power, and is incredibly useful, affecting those she interacts with on a subconscious level.
  • Healing - Sefer can heal via touch, generating the same red energy as seen when she teleports.
  • Contact Damage - Sefer can generate the red energy using in her teleportation techniques from her hands, using it to amplify her melee attacks; the effect of this is devastating. She was able to take out Cassius Calm in just two hits from this attack, leading him to remark that she was "a monster".

Cruel Angel's Thesis[edit | edit source]

Cruel Angel's Thesis

Main Article: Cruel Angel's Thesis

Sefer possesses the Stand, Cruel Angel's Thesis. Being the original Stand, it is one of the most powerful. This, combined with Sefer's inherent understanding of Stands, makes Sefer an incredibly dangerous opponent. It has the ability to fully reflect damage; instead of damage dealt to it being transmitted to its user, Sefer, as is the norm with Stands, the damage is instead transmitted to Cruel Angel's Thesis's attacker. This means the only way to defeat Cruel Angel's Thesis is to kill Sefer.

It was later revealed that Cruel Angel's Thesis has a mind of its own, and is not truly under the command of Sefer - her instructions are only suggestions to it. It acts out of its desire for self-preservation, meaning it will keep Sefer alive at all costs. Furthermore, it has the ability to fully possess Sefer - though she can fight this to some extent. Given the fact that a CAT-Possessed Sefer would have Cruel Angel's Thesis's reflect damage ability, meaning she couldn't be hurt, and therefore the original, sole method of defeating Cruel Angel's Thesis via killing Sefer would be removed, it is highly likely that this combination would be one of the most powerful single entities in the BZPB Multiverse.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Sefer Yetzirah translates to "Book of Creation" in Hebrew, and refers to the earliest extant text on Jewish esoteric lore. The authorship of the book is traditionally ascribed to Abraham.
  • Sefer's name is another result result of User:FullFrontal's habit of drawing names and ideas from Jewish and Christian mysticism. Because of this, she actually shares her first name with a Firegate character - Sefer Shevirah Ephraim.
  • Sefer's current theme is Borderland by Mami Kawada.
  • Sefer prefers male titles over female titles - for example, she prefers to be called Lord over Lady. As such, she is titled as Emperor of the Takemikazuchi empire, as opposed to Empress.
