Kamino was an oceanic planet that became a battleground between several factions in the Battle of Darkmount. Kamino was destroyed in the aftermath of the battle, but was succeeded by another planet named Kamino 2.0. When Kamino 2.0 was also destroyed, Kamino 3.0 was founded and developed with the apparent aid of the Dominion.

The first Kamino had at least one moon, Korasa, which apparently continued to orbit Kamino 2.0 and Kamino 3.0.

History[edit | edit source]

Kamino[edit | edit source]

Part of the Battle of Darkmount was fought on Kamino. Towards the end of the battle, Blackout activated 'planetary destruct sequence Delta', which began a countdown that would culminate in the planet's destruction. This distracted Blackout's enemies on the planet while he and the other Elite Makuta escaped aboard Darkmount. Kamino was destroyed, but Blackout's enemies survived too.[1]

A successor to Kamino was later established in the form of Kamino 2.0.[2]

Kamino 2.0[edit | edit source]

Kamino 2.0 was founded as a successor to the original Kamino, but was also destroyed in an unknown incident. Malygos was thought to have perished in its destruction, but he survived somehow.[2]

Kamino 3.0[edit | edit source]

By 150,080 CMT, Malygos and the Dominion had developed Kamino 3.0, which appeared as an advanced utopia filled with miraculous technologies, and established it as one of their bases. Malygos unveiled Kamino 3.0 to Blackout when he opened a portal to Blackout's location to announce his return, but was distracted by the appearance of Zev Raregroove.[2]

Dr. Doppler later suggested that Malygos's allies and Zev's allies should set up teleporters between the Sōja and Kamino 3.0 that would be set to deactivate if either the Sōja or the Kamino 3.0 Command Center were breached. However, this suggestion was ignored.[3]

The fate of Kamino 3.0 is uncertain, but subsequent references have implied that it has also been destroyed. Jinx's first thought at the mention of Kamino was that it had been destroyed,[4] while Rainn Sulrai told Poe that Korasa was the moon of "what used to be" Kamino.[5]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Kamino was reportedly the last place that Jorten Karzdus visited before his death on Krustallos.[4] Considering the length of time between the original Kamino's destruction and Karzdus's death, it is likely that this report referred to either Kamino 2.0 or Kamino 3.0, because the first Kamino was destroyed in the aftermath of the Battle of Darkmount (which occurred on or prior to 100,080 CMT) and Karzdus died in 149,454 CMT.
  • In addition, Klak once stated that Project Cadmus had facilities on Kamino that they moved to Korasa before Kamino's destruction. Considering when the original Kamino was destroyed, this line probably also refers to one of Kamino's successors.[4]
