In The Fire Rises Universe, Sefer Yetzirah was the Emperor of the New Order and one of the most powerful psychic entities to ever exist. She attempted to conquer the galaxy using a psychic compound named S1987 in order to achieve peace by converting all other nations to her point of view, but was forced to abandon her campaign when Arc Blair returned to initiate the Sixth Arc Crusade.

Together with Dallas Dalton, Sefer led a resistance movement against Blair up until her death at the hands of her own daughter, Evangelise Yetzirah. Due to the circumstances of Sefer's death, the timeline was retroactively altered so that it appeared as if the Sixth Arc Crusade had never happened; however, Sefer was not returned to life by this effect, nor was anyone else who died in the final battle itself.

Following Sefer's demise, her widow, Lilith Yetzirah, became the Emperor of the New Order.

History[edit | edit source]

This version of Sefer Yetzirah's history is identical to that of the Sefer Yetzirah of the Reborn Universe up until the end of BZPB Reborn, at which point her timeline diverges into The Fire Rises Universe.

Events Post-Reborn[edit | edit source]

At some point, Sefer married Lilith Heyerdahl, who changed her name to Lilith Yetzirah to reflect their marriage.[1]

After the Tanari-Takemikazuchi War, Sefer and Lilith used the Fruit of Life in Shangri-La to create a daughter named Evangelise, who they named after Evangelise Ascheron. Although Eva was created to succeed Sefer, Sefer was absent for much of her childhood, leaving Eva to instead be raised by Lilith, Evangelise Ascheron, and Lucy Farr. As a result, the two never formed anything resembling a traditional bond between mother and child.[2]

Sefer tried to take over the galaxy by using S1987, which was a compound that essentially mimicked the effect of her own psychic aura. As such, anyone affected was unable to form or hold any views or opinions that differed from Sefer's, with her logic being that if everyone subscribed to the same viewpoint, there would be no reason for conflict between groups of people. Viewing this not as an act of imperialism but an act of humanitarian aid, the Takemikazuchi Empire expanded into the New Order, welcoming any states that willingly subjected themselves to S1987 canister bombing (and the technological advancements that would come from being allied with the Takemikazuchi), and violently suppressing and incorporating any states that resisted. Their progress towards Sefer's promised utopia was halted when the remaining states formed the Alliance of Free Planets, headed by Malchior IV, and Sefer realized that she couldn't pick them off one at a time anymore. The entire campaign was abandoned when Arc Blair returned to initiate the Sixth Arc Crusade against the galaxy.[3]

The Sixth Arc Crusade[edit | edit source]

In 7 AR, Sefer visited the Takemikazuchi fighter pilot Lena Ishikawa in person to congratulate her on the destruction of the Kanos Jai cruiser Tel Viras Ahmeri. Although Ishikawa expected to receive Sefer's wrath because she had disobeyed a direct order in doing so, Sefer instead recruited her into the Shinsengumi and reassigned her to the Kusanagi with the intention of training Ishikawa as her personal apprentice.[4]

Together with Dallas Dalton, Sefer co-led the resistance against Arc Blair,[3] who had recruited Evangelise Yetzirah to his cause by preying on her feelings of abandonment.[2] In the final battle with Arc Blair, Dalton died transferring his power to Sefer,[3] who chose to sacrifice herself by allowing Evangelise to impale her on the Lance of Astraea. In doing so, Sefer channelled her life force through the spear, creating a tear in the space-time continuum that Blair and Evangelise were sucked into and banished from The Fire Rises Universe.[5] Due to the unstable nature of the spacetime around the galactic core, the timeline was retroactively altered after Sefer's sacrifice so that it appeared as if the sixth crusade had never happened. Sefer, however, was not returned to life by this effect, nor was anyone else who died in the final battle itself.[5]

Legacy[edit | edit source]

Due to the immense willpower and determination that Sefer had displayed during her life, Guinan of the Knowledge Dimension selected her to become a canon agent, responsible for enforcing the Canonical Directive across the multiverse. Sefer's consciousness was recovered from the moment of her death and bound to a new Akashic body, creating a new version of Sefer native to the Knowledge Dimension.[6]

After Sefer's death, Lilith became Emperor of the New Order, deciding to sue for peace with the Alliance of Free Planets, destroying the entire remaining stock of S1987 and releasing the antidote for it to the galaxy, giving the New Order's former states the option to either leave or stay. This was viewed as a betrayal by some elements of the New Order, who defected and established a base in the Sundowner system, which they viewed as a holy site as the origin of Sefer's great crusade. Without Sefer to reassure her, Lilith began to find it increasingly difficult to see the justification for some of Sefer's extremist actions.[3]
