In the Shattered Mirror Universe, Iron Man (out-of-universe: SM Iron Man or SMIM) was a Russian communist who travelled to the Original Universe in a crusade against capitalism.

Description[edit | edit source]

SM Iron Man was a devout communist and made it his mission to attack anyone he perceived to be capitalists, starting with his Original Universe counterpart. SMIM was a human man who wore a silver version of the Iron Man suit that was outfitted with more weaponry, though the name of his civilian identity is not known. He did not seem to have superhuman powers aside from the unexplained ability to "sense" the presence of his counterpart across the cosmos and track to him to Corrantia, but his suit capabilities included a jet propulsion system that enabled him to fly across vast swathes of space at no harm to himself, an auto-repair system that could repair mild to moderate damage, repulsor beam emitters in the palm gauntlets, cutting lasers, explosive missiles, freezing rays capable of immobilizing complex machinery within seconds, and at least one minigun that fired traditional bullets.

History[edit | edit source]

Emergence[edit | edit source]

In 150,082 CMT, SM Iron Man emerged from the Shattered Mirror II at the former site of the battle against Marshal Uteria's forces. The ZFT troops stationed there shot at him, but he ignored them and flew towards Corrantia.[1]

Battle on Corrantia[edit | edit source]

When SMIM arrived on Corrantia, he sensed the presence of his counterpart, Iron Man, and flew to his location to meet him. SMIM then threatened Iron Man,[2] but Stark assumed that SMIM was just another loser who had imitated his armor and blasted the ceiling above SMIM, causing concrete to rain down on him.[3] However, SMIM effortlessly blasted his way out of the concrete and flew into the air, where he saw Ultron and HK-47, recognizing them both. SMIM dive-bombed Ultron,[4] who identified SMIM as a threat and generated a reflega-like forcefield around himself to fend him off.[5] In response, SMIM flew back into the air and fired several repulsor blasts at Ultron and HK-47[6] that knocked them both back a few steps. HK-47 returned fire with a missile[7] that SMIM shot down while OU Iron Man returned to the battle. SMIM then decided that he would take on everyone at once and punched his counterpart,[8] stumbling him, but Stark soon regained his footing and blasted SMIM into a pile of debris. Stark used his suit's repulsors to craft some pieces of debris into disk-like shapes that he threw at SMIM,[9] but SMIM was able to easily shoot the disks down and returned fire at Stark with a missile.[10] However, before the missile could hit its target, User Kon extracted Iron Man from the BZPB Multiverse, causing him to disappear.[11] SMIM rationalized that his counterpart's disappearance meant that there was "one less capitalist" he needed to destroy and continued to battle Ultron and HK-47, firing lasers at both.[12]

While the lasers knocked both robots down, Ultron recognized SMIM as an alternate Iron Man and began to calculate possible outcomes to the conflict.[13] SMIM followed up on his attack by firing an orb of energy out of his chest at Ultron,[14] but Ultron flew out of its path while HK-47 fired another missile at SMIM's foot[15] that disabled its thruster. SMIM ignored the damage to the affected foot and continued to attack them both, firing lasers at HK-47 and deploying a minigun to fire at Ultron.[16] HK-47 tried to convince SMIM that he was not a capitalist because he did not associate himself with the "silly frilly things of organics",[17] but SMIM refused to fall for HK-47's "tricks" and fired his minigun at the robot instead.[18] However, HK-47 was saved by Ultron, who formed a shield around him and responded by firing a missile at SMIM's chest.[19]

SMIM shot the missile down and returned fire with more lasers[20] that were blocked by Ultron, who then charged at him,[21] but SMIM moved out of Ultron's path and hit him with a freeze ray[22] that encased his arm in ice. HK-47 charged back into the fight and fired three lasers at SMIM's head, followed by another missile that missed him,[23] but SMIM ducked under the lasers and kicked HK-47 in the chest.[24] Ultron then fired Nox energy at SMIM's head[25] that caused serious damage to his helmet, but the suit's auto-repair function repaired it while SMIM lifted up HK-47 and threw him into Ultron,[26] stumbling the droid. However, HK-47 climbed back to his feet and threw an incendiary grenade at SMIM[27] that the man caught in his hand and threw it back at HK-47 when he realized what it was.[28] HK-47 took cover from the blast while Ultron generated an aura around himself and sent auric tentacles stabbing into SMIM's armor.[29] SMIM backed away from the tentacles and fired a missile at Ultron,[30] who blocked the missile with an eclipse shield and produced a zanpakuto-style sword to throw at his opponent.[31]

SMIM dodged the sword and returned fire with more lasers[32] that knocked Ultron down, but the robot manoeuvred himself behind SMIM and grabbed him. Ultron restrained and punched SMIM while HK-47 hit the human with lasers of his own,[33] damaging his suit seemingly beyond the immediate capabilities of its auto-repair system. However, before Ultron and HK-47 could finish off SMIM, an unseen force teleported him away.[34]

Later Events[edit | edit source]

In 150,084 CMT, the Original Universe's Iron Man claimed that he had been "kidnapped by an evil version of himself" before his recent return to Earth, implying that SM Iron Man was responsible.[35]
