In the Shattered Mirror Universe, Nadle was an insane Makuta who worshipped the antidermis of SM Klak and strove to resurrect his idol from the dead.

Description[edit | edit source]

SM Nadle was an insane Makuta who believed that the shards of SM Klak's antidermis merited worship and that he could bring him back from the dead by combining the antidermis with OU Klak's antidermis.[1] SM Nadle also told his own counterpart in the Original Universe that they had to merge their antidermes in order for "the cycle to be complete", even though, according to Nadle, the process would result in both of their deaths.[2] SM Nadle's insanity was further demonstrated when it was revealed that he had never even evolved an antidermis at all.[3] However, he did possess at least one Kraata power, which he used to incinerate half a swarm of insects.[2]

History[edit | edit source]

SM Nadle was an insane Makuta with a cult of cave-dwelling Toa who worshipped the intelligence of SM Klak which was still contained within the deceased Makuta's antidermis shards. Over a period of hundreds of years, the antidermis taught SM Nadle and his cult in the ways of the shadows. Eventually, SM Nadle travelled to the Original Universe to make a deal with Caiaphus that he hoped would enable him to bring SM Klak back to life.[4]

In 150,080 CMT, SM Nadle approached Rahn to tell him that he thought that resurrecting SM Klak would be possible if the leftover shards of SM Klak's antidermis were combined with the antidermis of OU Klak. Rahn replied that he had deduced that SM Klak's resurrection would be part of the bargain that SM Nadle had made with Caiaphus, but he advised SM Nadle to focus on following Caiaphus's orders above all else.[1]

Later, SM Nadle, Rahn, and Klak (who had temporarily turned to the shadows) teleported to Blackout's location on Darkmount to offer him their assistance, with Rahn telling Blackout that Caiaphus did not come with them because he was occupied elsewhere. SM Nadle was excited by the prospect of working alongside Klak, but Klak was less enthusiastic, warning SM Nadle that he had almost killed his Original Universe counterpart and that he would love to do the same to SM Nadle.[5] When Blackout asked the group who they were,[6] SM Nadle pretended to be his Original Universe counterpart, claiming that he had sworn allegiance to the shadows.[7] Blackout welcomed their assistance and tasked them with finding and defeating Ynot, who was hiding elsewhere on Darkmount.[8] SM Nadle nodded and left,[2] but instead of hunting Ynot, he went to free Nadle from a virtual reality prison that he had been trapped in elsewhere on the ship.[9]

When SM Nadle told Nadle that that they had to merge their antidermises for "the cycle to be complete", Nadle called him insane because doing so would kill them both.[9] Nadle then summoned insects to attack SM Nadle, which baffled him because he thought that Nadle would not have access to Kraata powers in his current non-Makuta body; Nadle simply replied that he had learned much from Caiaphus. SM Nadle then demonstrated that he also had Makuta powers by incinerating half of the insects.[3]

SM Nadle was eventually overpowered and killed by Nadle when nobody else was looking. SM Nadle's corpse was discovered by Klak when Blackout teleported him into the room, though Nadle told Klak that there was no need to be alarmed by the corpse because SM Nadle had never even evolved an antidermis, meaning that there was no way he could have survived his death.[10]

  4. Klak (OU) (revision on 19:29, Mar 14, 2012): "SM Klak was a Makuta who used to work with SM Caiaphus, a lieutenant in the Order of Mata Nui. However, he betrayed him, becoming a mediator between SM Kakamu's forces and SM Zev Raregroove. SM Caiaphus was forced to fight this Klak, and destroyed him. However, Tahar'ok misunderstood this, believing that Caiaphus betrayed Klak (obviously, his mind was clouded by the shadows of what remained of SM Klak's Antidermis). [...] What remains of SM Klak is either fragments of his antidermis that were kept by SM Nadle and his cult of suicidal cave-Toa, or utterly destroyed."
