The Borg Queen was the commanding entity of the Borg Collective.

History[edit | edit source]

The Borg Queen was once a girl of an unknown species who was assimilated into the Borg Collective when they attacked her homeworld many years ago. Through unknown circumstances, she became their ruler; connected to their hivemind, yet distinct from it. Over the years that followed, she directed the Borg in their quest to achieve perfection by masterminding attacks on other species and cultures and assimilating their best qualities.

The Borg Queen became interested in Kakamu when he and Trantoshen infiltrated a Borg Cube to capture one of her drones, with the intention of using its nanotechnology to repair the cellular damage to Kakamu's failing body. This mission ended with Kakamu himself being captured by Borg drones and forcibly injected with nanoprobes intended to convert him into one. To the Borg Queen's surprise, Kakamu was able to resist the influence of the nanoprobes much more strongly than any other being she had encountered. She performed a series of tests on Kakamu to find out why this was, and in the process, discovered his immortality.

Kakamu, who was not yet aware that he was immortal, used the last of his strength to teleport to Yon's location and ask him to kill him so that his power would not be used against his friends.[1] However, the Borg Queen locked on to Kakamu's location and teleported him into her throne room before Yon could do the deed. There, the Borg Queen's physical form was assembled by robotic arms; once complete, she welcomed Kakamu to the Borg in person.[2] She encouraged Kakamu not to resist, but this only made him struggle more, so she had two drones inject Kakamu with even more nanoprobes to accelerate his assimilation.[3] The Borg Queen succeeded in converting Kakamu into a drone, but she was unable to replicate his immortality, no matter how hard she tried.

When Kakamu was freed from the Borg Collective by Vorahk-Kah, the Queen chose not to pursue them. Her current status and the status of the Borg are unknown.
