"I thought I told him to stay away from Spiral Power..."
Washu Hakubi, about Zev Raregroove[1]

Spiral Power was a type of energy that could be innately tapped into by certain beings for immense destructive and transformative potential.

Description[edit | edit source]

Spiral Power was a fiery, emerald-colored energy that could be summoned by certain beings to accelerate their evolution to their maximum potential by multiplying their strength and altering their appearance. Users of Spiral Power could also use it to transform the machines they used by maximising their power and efficiency, which also (temporarily) altered the machine's appearance for as long as the Spiral Power was being maintained by its user. Like the warriors of the Lantern Corps, users of Spiral Power could also shape the energy they controlled into constructs such as drills, as well as constructs that even resembled living beings.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

In 150,080 CMT, Bitil hired an unidentified female spy to attempt to kill Zev Raregroove on Blackout's behalf who had already betrayed Zev on a previous occasion.[2] When the spy appeared in front of the Sōja in a small shuttle,[3] Zev recognized the shuttle and was overcome with rage at the memory of her betrayal, releasing huge quantities of Spiral Power that transformed him into a more muscular, younger, shirtless version of himself as well as transforming the Sōja into a mecha that had a skull for its chest and a horned helm with glowing green eyes behind a huge replica of Zev's sunglasses. While Ryoko and Washu Hakubi hunkered down in the Sōja, Zev began to concentrate the excess Spiral Power into several drill-shaped constructs, which prompted the spy to summon several more ships to replace her while she reversed course and fled. When each of the enemy ships fired blasts at the Sōja that were powerful enough to cripple Darkmount, Zev performed a Giga Drill Break by combining the drills on his mecha into a single drill that was more than twice its size, which easily blocked the enemy blasts.[1]

Zev then used Spiral Power to create ten more constructs that looked like drill-shaped spaceships that were each being piloted by constructs shaped like beautiful women. As Zev and the "Spiral Maidens" chanted "For justice...For the weak...AND FOR THE HAREM!!", the drills tore through most of the enemy ships and destroyed them, leaving only one remaining. Having completed his "warm up", Zev then pointed the Giga Drill at the last remaining enemy ship and prepared to destroy it.[1]
