Arc PLUTUS (formerly Arc Plutus) is a synthetic Arc of the New Order.

Description[edit | edit source]

Arc PLUTUS is a silver-skinned synthetic being who resembles an android in appearance, but is in truth far closer to a golem than any man-made mechanical construct. In his initial appearance as Arc Plutus, he had an emotionless and eyeless silver face that resembled that of a male human, with artificial silver hair.[1] Following his modification by the Arokazek of Kharabad, PLUTUS retained the same trademark silver, sculpted features, but gained a plume of long, silver hair that hung directly upwards, as if willfully disobeying gravity. His New Order uniform was also exchanged for a purple cloak that floated around him.[2]

Although initially an emotionless artificial being who acted purely on the results of logical calculations, Arc PLUTUS eventually gained true sentience and emotions from the Arokazek gene-smiths of Kharabad.[2]

History[edit | edit source]

Origins[edit | edit source]

Plutus's true origins are unknown, but he is suspected to be many hundreds if not thousands of years old. At the time of his discovery by Sefer Yetzirah, Plutus had been leading a small group of like-minded synthetics on a journey throughout the galaxy, searching for understanding of their purpose and origins, as well as reactivating fellow members of their kind that had been stranded on seemingly random and unconnected worlds for an unknown reason.

Plutus and his companions became enthralled by the ideals of the New Order and the utopian, orderly society it would seek to create, having seen much violence throughout their galactic travels, including numerous conflicts between organic and synthetic races which they seeked to avoid. When the proposal of an alliance with the New Order was put forth by Sefer, it took Plutus's faction less than a minute to fully debate the proposition and arrive at a consensus; they agreed to join the New Order.

Present Day[edit | edit source]

In 7 AR, Arc Plutus was one of the Arcs who attended the emergency holo-meeting of the Arcs Primis after the destruction of Yamato. When a dialogue between Admiral Di-Jonn Massa and Arc Jinzo started to become heated, Plutus reminded them of their place as generals and informed Arc Isha that he was dissatisfied with the current turnaround time of the Narayanastra superweapon, revealing that his calculations had predicted a way to speed up the process. Next, Plutus tasked Arc Zabaton with launching an attack on the homeworld of whoever would be elected the new secretary-general of the Free Systems Alliance in order to remind them of their vulnerability.[1]

Later, Plutus travelled aboard the Vengeance through a Firegate to Kharabad for a secret mission. Together with the captain of the Vengeance, Jeremiah Thule, Plutus took a fighter to the surface and entered the birthing facility of the PsyTroopers, where he awakened a nascent PsyTrooper that had been implanted with the consciousness of Ross Palermo. Posing as a Malchiorian, Plutus entered the mind of 'Ross' and told him that he was recovering from his apparent death in a hospital on Malchior IV. Plutus then switched to imitating Klak himself, using Klak's voice to order 'Ross' to divulge everything he knew about September Dawn. When 'Ross' questioned why Klak would need such information from him if he was the president, Plutus lied that September Dawn had been responsible for an attack on the FSA headquarters, with Nadle believed to be the mastermind. Shocked by this apparent betrayal, 'Ross' began to tell Plutus everything he knew about September Dawn.[3]

Soon after these events, Arc Plutus gained sentience and emotions, as well as a new appearance, courtesy of the Arokazek gene-smiths of Kharabad. Arc Plutus changed his name to Arc PLUTUS to reflect his ascension. On July 23, Arc PLUTUS hailed the Malchiorian early warning ship Gladius to gloat that their forward operating bases had fallen under New Order control, savoring his newly-gained emotions.[2]
