Klak Vell is the President of the Malchiorian Protectorate, and one of the top leaders of the Free States Alliance. A war hero and a former police officer, Klak leads one of the more prominent governments in the galaxy in its attempt at promoting peace and justice. During the FSA-New Order War, Klak was one of the preeminent opponents of Emperor Sefer Yetzirah and her New Order, as well as the mysterious entity Blackout.

Despite his moral stances and ideals, Klak hides a terrible secret, one that many dark forces intend to exploit.

History[edit | edit source]

Klak was orphaned as a child in a mysterious accident. He was found unconscious in the wreckage by Pa with an equally cryptic fragment of a bony mask. Vell, along with his wife Norma Vell, rescued the child using lifesaving cybernetic and bionic implants that gave him enhanced superpowers.

The Vells adopted Klak, instilling in him important Malchiorian values of service and integrity. Eventually, he enrolled in the Michael Rosen Institute, where he became the rival of one Melvin Elias.

Years later, Klak joined the Malchiorian military. When he was discharged, he joined the Control City Police Department, gaining renown for using his enhanced superpowers to capture some of the worst criminals on the planet.

Intergalactic Encounters[edit | edit source]

In 0 AR, Klak was on his way through the city when he noticed he was being followed by a mysterious Shifter. He confronted the man, learning that someone named "David Robert Jones" had taken an interest in him.

Later, Klak joined his friends Nadle| and Bob| to explore a mysterious crypt that housed the fabled Craft of Laigula, a Rider superweapon. However, upon arriving at the crypt, they encountered soldiers from the Vongolan People's Republic led by Figlio di Armechio. The group fought against Figlio with the aid of Aster--a friend of David Robert Jones--and Richard--who was the man who had been following him earlier. In their struggle, they all wound up releasing the Nish'Gek Curse, revealed to be none other than Caiaphus.

Despite their efforts, Figlio and Caiaphus escaped. The group then encountered Coro, one of the guardians tasked to prevent Caiaphus' release. After a brief argument, everyone went their separate ways. Klak arrived home to find that President Yuy of Malchior had been assassinated.

The following morning, Klak began to investigate his encounters with all those mysterious beings the night before. In his notes were the letters "M" and "A" written in red ink.

Days later, Klak encountered and fought the strange duo known as Zoe Gissier and Zorn. Coro intervened in the fight, referring to Klak as the "Simurgh", referring to an alleged ancient prophecy.

At another point in time, Klak was after a gelatinous blob criminal but blacked out during the chase. When he woke up, the gelatinous blob seemed to be gone, but it had actually been destroyed by a mysterious magic blast.

The Tanari-Takemikazuchi War[edit | edit source]

Klak returned to the Malchiorian military at the outset of the Tanari-Takemikazuchi War. He fought in numerous campaigns against the Lurians, Tanari, and Vongolans, including the mission that led to the capture of Generalissimo Uteriach di Armechio, leader of the Vongolan People's Republic. Furthermore, he fought against Caiaphus quite often in the middle of heated battles. Meanwhile, Klak discovered that he had numerous secret magical abilities, using them to his advantage along with the superpowers he already possessed. Thanks to his efforts and combat prowess, he quickly gained renown across the galaxy as a Malchiorian war hero, earning important promotions. In the final days of the war, Klak worked closely with Takemikazuchi Emperor Sefer Yetzirah.

Early Political Career[edit | edit source]

After the War, Malchiorian President Howard hired Klak to fill an important position. Klak was practically a protege of Howard, who saw great potential in him as a successor.

In a security incident, Klak had yet another battle with Caiaphus, seemingly destroying the fiend once and for all (but of course, he was mistaken).

Time passed, and Klak rapidly rose to political prominence despite his limited experience. When Howard decided not to pursue re-election, he instead pushed for Klak's nomination. In AR 5, Klak won the election in a landslide.

Presidency[edit | edit source]

Klak's presidency was in its infancy when Sefer declared her New Order. In response, he and the leaders of numerous other intergalactic powers created the Free States Alliance, which would supplant the defunct Galactic Government, acting as both a military and diplomatic inter-governmental organization. Meanwhile, he also secretly turned to Uteriach di Armechio for assistance, planning to learn of Dachori military secrets.

Abilities & Powers[edit | edit source]

  • Enhanced speed - Klak's implants allow him to run faster than ordinary humans.
  • Super strength - Klak possesses strength above that of the average human.
  • Trained Fighter - Because of Klak's extensive military and police training, he is trained in multiple forms of combat.
  • Magical Energy Manipulation - Klak is able to conjure magic blasts, as well as a number of magical constructs such as swords and shields. However, these are not based on spells; rather, he is able to do so using pure, seemingly magical energy.
