Breaker Gorgon was a magical construct used by Rider that helped her to suppress the immense power of the Eyes of Cybele.

Description[edit | edit source]

Breaker Gorgon was a magical construct that resembled a scaly, purple blindfold whose existence was maintained by Rider to help her to suppress the immense power of the Eyes of Cybele.[1] Despite being a magical construct, Breaker Gorgon was not immune to physical damage and could be destroyed by weapons fire (such as shots from a plasma rifle),[2] but Rider was able to recreate it as long as she had enough magical energy to do so.[3]

History[edit | edit source]

In 150,083 CMT, the physical manifestation of Breaker Gorgon was temporarily disrupted during the battle between Rider and Tyrigosa when Tyrigosa shot Breaker Gorgon with her plasma rifle, revealing Rider's Eyes of Cybele. Tyrigosa was paralyzed by the Mystic Eyes' influence, leaving her defenseless while Rider summoned a mount she called the "Phantom Chariot" and rode away.[2]

After Rider was stabbed through the lung by Rhoad Kamelot,[4] Nefelpitou asked Rider to reform Breaker Gorgon so that he would not have to struggle against the Eyes of Cybele's petrifying influence while healing her with Doctor Blythe. Rider complied by muttering "Breaker Gorgon" between ragged breaths, summoning wisps of magenta energy that formed Breaker Gorgon over her eyes once again.[3]

Rider (spirit) (revision on 04:22, Jan 13, 2013): "Rider is a particularly tall and fit woman, with long, flowing hair of lavender purple, pale skin, and eyes covered by some kind of scaly purple blindfold. [...] By using her blindfold - a magical, projected construct in itself - Rider can seal her vision, and thereby prevent Cybele from petrifying droves of innocent bystanders in everyday life. Her glasses in casual wear seem to serve a similar purpose, sans blocking all visual input."
