Kikanalo were a species of large, herbivorous herd Rahi.
History[edit | edit source]
The Kikanalo species was created by the Brotherhood of Makuta as part of their mission to populate the Matoran Universe with Rahi.[1]
When Sasuken was just a few years old, he was assigned to clean the waste out of the stables that the larger Rahi lived in on Destral, such as the Kikanalo, Kane-Ra, Tarakava, and the Rahi Nui. The Kikanalo would sometimes misbehave, much to Sasuken's chagrin, but one day, the Kikanalo were grazing peacefully alongside the Kane-Ra and Tarakava. This lulled Sasuken into a false sense of security which vanished when the Rahi Nui divebombed him.[2]
In 150,084 CMT, the magical "nightmare coma" spell that Mazkertis had inflicted on Klak drew inspiration from the memories in Klak's subconsciousness to create a hostile mental construct based on SM Treveya that was designed to prevent Klak, or any other sentient minds that would dare to enter Klak's subconsciousness, from escaping from the coma. On Day 76 of The Mazkertis Paradox arc, this nightmare version of SM Treveya encountered D-Klak, Nadle, and the Norman when the trio ventured into the Dreamscape in an attempt to rescue Klak from the magic-induced coma. When the dream-walkers attacked the nightmare constructs, 'SM Treveya' fought back against the invaders by creating a magical construct of a Kikanalo that she sent charging towards D-Klak. D-Klak leaped into the air to dodge the creature, only to find himself entangled by vines that squeezed him so tightly that he briefly lost consciousness. When he woke up, he freed himself from the vines and hit 'SMT' with a sonic scream, which prompted her Kikanalo construct to reengage him. While the Kikanalo prepared to charge, D-Klak slowly circled around and positioned himself in front of 'SM Treveya', so that when the Rahi charged, he would be able to dive out of the way just in time and it would collide with its master instead. D-Klak's plan worked and 'SMT' was defeated.[3]
