- "I have never begged for my life."
- ―Cassius Calm to Lucy Farr
Cassius Calm is a Buddhist monk with an as of yet unknown agenda. He is an imposing figure, tall and muscular. He wears a white Karate gi under a purple set of robes, which he discards to summon his stand, Noble Eightfold Path. He is a skilled fighter even without the aid of a stand, and managed to avoid any serious injury in a fight with Sefer Yetzirah.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Cassius is a man of few words. He possesses incredible strength and an imposing figure. He is a devout Buddhist, and does not kill, though he has no qualms against using non-lethal violence to achieve his aims. Calm has incredible control over his own chakras, and can detect and sense the chakras of those around him. Calm opposes cruelty and injustice, and fights evil wherever it is found. He is 6'5" and weighs 102kg.
History[edit | edit source]
We're Shinsengumi Lunatics![edit | edit source]
Calm was featured in the short story We're Shinsengumi Lunatics!, which takes place before his introduction to the RPG. He challenged Sefer Yetzirah to a duel on his homeworld, having sensed her aura, and determined that she was of ill intent; Calm's abilities allow him to read other's chakras. He is quickly defeated, and thrown in the brig of the Kusanagi.
Escape from the Brig[edit | edit source]
After being placed in the brig of the Kusanagi Calm began a long meditation, which resulted in the appearance of his stand, Noble Eightfold Path. Calm escaped from the brig by blasting the door clean off its hinges. Lucy Farr confronted him, and the two engaged in a battle which destroyed a large portion of the Kusanagi. Cassius was victorious, though he spared Lucy's life, as he does not believe in killing. To this extent, he actually prevented her unconscious body from falling into a pool of molten metal.
Duel with Kira[edit | edit source]
Enraged by Calm's defeat of Lucy Farr, Masuta Kira chased Calm down, and challenged him to a Fist Blood duel in the hanger bay of The Kusanagi. Calm fought with one katana, borrowed from Kira, who used five, alternately. Calm won the duel by stabbing Kira in the foot, sacrificing a cut to his arm as a decoy.
Noble Eightfold Path[edit | edit source]
Main Article: Noble Eightfold Path
Calm possesses the stand Noble Eightfold Path. Its power is as of yet unknown, but it is likely slightly less powerful than Lucy Farr's Sympathy For The Devil. As a Meditation type stand, it has the ability to cast forcefields by way of its sheer determination and will. It resembles a glowing white mannequin of swirling energy, clad in Calm's discarded robes, with a huge eight-spoke ship's wheel attached to its back.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Cassius's name is a reference to heavyweight boxer Muhammad Ali, who was originally known as Cassius Clay. The Calm in Cassius's name is a reference to the Buddhist teachings he follows.
