Sa'dhem was an Ethereal and the leader of the bandit group known as the Twisted Sky Marauders.

Description[edit | edit source]

Sa'dhem was an Ethereal man who wielded a tinbe-rochin combination of weapons: a short forearm-length spear in the right hand and a small circular shield on the left arm.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

Sa'dhem implied that he was one of the Twisted Sky Marauders who Zev Raregroove had encountered some time in the past.[1] This event left Sa'dhem somewhat afraid of Zev, but he later came to think of Zev as a coward.[2]

In 150,080 CMT, Sa'dhem, now the leader of the Twisted Sky Marauders, detected the presence of Zev within their territory on Ja'ekel, so the Ethereals used their magic to generate a black dome around Zev and Namah that trapped them both inside. The Ethereals then teleported inside and Sa'dhem introduced himself to the duo, revealing that he knew Zev, though Zev did not remember him. The spirit of Wekiga briefly emerged from Zev and mocked Sa'dhem, but this did not surprise Sa'dhem because he had already been made aware of the connection between Zev and Wekiga. Sa'dhem then cut to the chase and revealed that he wanted to take the Ring of Greed from Zev, who replied that he could not surrender it even if he wanted to because of its hold on him. However, Sa'dhem was undeterred and decided that he would take it another way: by killing Zev and plucking it from his corpse.[1]

Sa'dhem ordered his minions to attack,[1] but Zev and Namah soon defeated them and confronted him. Sa'dhem noted the bandages that Zev was wearing and called him a "cheap Ethereal imitator", mocking him, and blasted him with a stream of raw Ethereal magic.[3] Sa'dhem then slashed at Zev with his spear; Zev dodged it but Sa'dhem hit him in the shoulder with another energy blast and continued to mock him by guessing that Zev had tried to talk his way out of the fight earlier because he could not imitate Ethereal magic. However, this only served to remind Zev that he could indeed imitate Ethereal magic, so Zev released a large beam of Ethereal-like energy that sent Sa'dhem crashing against the wall of the artificial dome. Before Sa'dhem could recover, Zev hit him with another beam that weakened him enough for the artificial dome to fade. Sa'dhem decided that he had to end the battle with a decisive blow, but found Zev's beam had paralyzed his limbs and collapsed on the ground. Sa'dhem loudly cursed Zev and swore that he would find some way to kill him, but Zev and Namah ignored Sa'dhem and walked away.[2]

Two minutes later, the independent humanoid version of Wekiga walked up to Sa'dhem, which confused him due to the existence of the other Wekiga who inhabited Zev's body. Wekiga replied that the connection would be "explained later" and absorbed Sa'dhem's soul, killing him.[2]

Abilities & Powers[edit | edit source]

  • Ethereal Magic: As an Ethereal, Sa'dhem could manipulate Ethereal magic and use it to create artificial prisons[1] and fire blasts of destructive energy.[2]
