Ynot (SMU)
Ynot was the second-in-command of the Brotherhood of Makuta in the Shattered Mirror Universe, and the temporary leader during Kakamu's extended absence.
He isn't as merciful or relenting as the original Ynot. Obviously.
History[edit | edit source]
Ynot was the second-in-command of the Brotherhood of Makuta, responsible for carrying out Kakamu's orders. However, he eventually realized that the Brotherhood was intended for more than just endlessly carrying out the will of Mata Nui, and began planning a rebellion against Kakamu, plotting to overthrow him.
One day, Kakamu was gone. As it turned out, he had passed through something known as the "Shattered Mirror", which had been found deep inside the Metru Nui Archives. Wishing to study it further, he brought it to Destral, where he discovered that it had taken him to another world. He was only able to open it for short intervals, not nearly long enough to pass through, but he was able to discover many things about the universe it led to.
He was incredibly amazed when he found that Blackout, an insignificant scientist who had not been seen for generations in his universe, was the leader of the Brotherhood in the one he was studying. Kakamu, the leader of the Brotherhood, had defected from the Makuta and had been on the run for years. Zev Raregroove, an evil genius who he had encountered on several occasions and had sworn to kill him the last time they met, was a hero, and he himself was a traitor being viciously hunted by Blackout across the universe.
Ynot saw this as an opportunity to take power for himself and succeeded, his first acts being to launch the Shattered Mirror in the general direction of the black hole which had ripped apart the planet Chenrotoss and rallying the Brotherhood's armies.
He was seen attacking Xia when Starscream arrived. The Order of Mata Nui member was fried by Sasuken, giving Ynot the chance to kill the Enlightened One and use Shadow Leeches to turn his "Light Hunters" into the Dark Hunters. He then took over Daxia.
He then had a little fight with Trantoshen for control of Destral, won, and enjoyed ruling the MU.
Then Blackout arrived, which drove him to attempt to reactivate Mata Nui. However, Blackout responded by bombarding Metru Nui. Shika then arrived, and made a wager that would involve him and Blackout killing the normalverse Ynot within one week.
They failed, miserably. Unfortunately, the prize for the victor (the Matoran Universe), was destroyed in the process, so nothing came about this except Ynot's death.
Much later, SMY appeared in the Original Universe in control of a Great Spirit Robot, which he used to fight Malygos's ascended form with. The Users reverted Malygos's ascension during the battle, causing the mage to think that it was SMY who depowered him. SMY fled, vowing revenge on Malygos.
