Urka-Nazkarath is a desolate planet located in a Dark Zone that the Kra'lythe selected as their headquarters.
Description[edit | edit source]
The name of Urka-Nazkarath was said to be so old that only Eclipse could claim to know its true meaning. It was described as the perfect home for the Kra'lythe because the chaotic energies inherent to the Dark Zones that were also abundant on Urka-Nazkarath enabled them to easily recharge their strength and powers after particularly strenuous missions, and the obfuscating space-time anomalies surrounding the planet that only the Kra'lythe knew how to navigate ensured that no Sha'lythe would ever dare or even bother to try to enter, even if they did discover its exact location. In addition, the Living Stars had always considered the Dark Zones to be outside of their jurisdiction because they technically existed outside of normal space and on an independent temporal thread, retaining the same singular history regardless of what alterations were made to the main universe's timeline. Among Urka-Nazkarath's physical features were continents of black canyons, volcanoes that continuously regurgitated chaotic energies into the atmosphere, and a vast obsidian temple that was used by the Kra'lythe for ceremonial purposes.[1]
After every week that passed in meta-time, all Kra'lythe were required to return to Urka-Nazkarath and convene in a circlular formation atop the temple to enter a state of "Communion" with Eclipse. This was a process in which Eclipse could update the vast reserves of his knowledge by assimilating the Kra'lythe's recent memories and further strengthen their obedience by telepathically implanting his own ideas into their minds. It was forbidden to speak during communion because Eclipse hated to be interrupted during the process, and he did not have the need, nor the patience, to wait for their mouths to speak in order to hear their words.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
A few millennia prior to 150,084 CMT, Eclipse and the Kra'lythe were forced to abandon their previous homeworld in order to keep the location of their headquarters secret when one of their own deserted the sect and went rogue. Urka-Nazkarath was selected as their new homeworld due to the isolated nature of its existence, its abundance of chaotic energies, and the fact that it existed on its own temporal thread, meaning that it would not be affected by any changes that were made to the universe's timeline.[1]
In 150,084 CMT, Lady Tsunami used the aleph point of the Hyperdimension to learn the whereabouts of the Kra'lythe's homeworld, Urka-Nazkarath, so that she could give this information to Quolas to assist him on his quest. On Day 76 of The Mazkertis Paradox arc, Tsunami brought Quolas to the Hyperdimension to inform him of the location of Urka-Nazkarath and hand him several memory tablets, one of which contained a recount of the destruction of Aedis that implicated Eclipse as its destroyer instead of Aedana, and another that contained a vision of the far future in which Quolas and Genetoes had both joined the Platinum Lantern Corps and become allies. With this knowledge, Quolas asked Tsunami to teleport him to Urka-Nazkarath so that he could show the memory tablets' contents to Genetoes in the hope that it would persuade him to abandon the Kra'lythe. Tsunami granted Quolas's request and teleported him into the midst of the Kra'lythe who had gathered on Urka-Nazkarath for their weekly communion with Eclipse.[1]
After Quolas telepathically transmitted some of his knowledge of Genetoes's destiny into Genetoes's mind, disturbing the Kra'lythe's ritual, all the Kra'lythe detected Quolas's presence and awoke, drawing their weapons and surrounding the intruder. Genetoes lashed out, filled with rage upon realizing that it was Quolas who had been filling his dreams with distasteful "fantasies" of the two being allies. While Quolas discussed Tsunami, the Living Stars, and the fall of Teranthea with Eclipse, Quolas secretly passed one of his memory tablets to Genetoes behind his back, inviting him to examine its contents itself. Once Genetoes had finished reading the memory tablet, he awoke and came to the conclusion that it was Eclipse, not Aedana, who was to blame for the fall of Aedis, his homeworld.[1]
