An unidentified vampire is an ally of Kay Faraday, Viola Cadaverini, and Klaud Ortenrosse in the City at Night.
History[edit | edit source]
In 150,081 CMT, this vampire was mortally wounded in an unknown conflict and retreated into his mansion in the City at Night, leaving a trail of blood behind him. Klaud Ortenrosse noticed a bloodstain on the doorstep of the mansion, but none of the city's police drones seemed to care, so he decided to investigate it himself.[1] He followed the trail of blood into the mansion and found the vampire lying in his own blood on a couch in the only unlocked room, who could be heard complaining that he could feel one of his own ribs poking him. The vampire recognized Klaud and named him as "Ortenrosse's Gambit", saying that "he must have sent [Klaud] to find the Grimoire of Thade". Klaud told the vampire that he had no idea what that meant, but the vampire reassured him by saying that they had allies, including Kay Faraday and Viola Cadaverini (though something had since happened to Viola that had taken her out of commission). The vampire added that he must rest to heal his injuries, but warned Klaud not to trust "Valdamjong" before falling unconscious.[2]
Abilities & Powers[edit | edit source]
- Vampiric Regeneration: Like most vampires, this vampire could regenerate his injuries and restore himself to full health over time.[2]
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The two posts in which this character appeared were inspired by a scene in the videogame Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. In Bloodlines, the player character, a newly sired vampire, walks down a street in Santa Monica and notices a puddle of blood in front of a mansion. He or she follows the trail inside and enters the only unlocked room to find a vampire character (Mercurio) lying on a couch in a pool of his own blood, who complains that he can feel one of his ribs poking him. That is where the similarities end, however.
