An unidentified avian apprentice was an Apprentice of Caiaphus. He was eventually killed so that Caiaphus could occupy his body, which he did for many years.
History[edit | edit source]
As the Avian[edit | edit source]
This avian being was one of the Apprentices of Caiaphus. After the Apprentices organization was all-but destroyed in a battle with Blackout's forces in 149,780 CMT, the avian apprentice participated in its reformation. Unfortunately, their master, Caiaphus, decided that his own body was too weak to teach his students the full power that the shadows provided, so he had some other apprentices sacrifice the avian so that he would be able to possess the avian's body instead. The Apprentices succeeded in killing the avian, and Caiaphus possessed his body as planned.[1][2]
As Caiaphus[edit | edit source]
Caiaphus inhabited the body of the avian for many years. During this period, he used it to train his apprentices to become stronger than ever before. He was still inhabiting the body of the avian when he was confronted by Klak, TMV, Prudence Franklin and Kensei Muguruma on Aluic-5 almost two centuries later. He was about to take the quartet to the True Temple, but was suddenly attacked by Grimmjow JaggerJack, who's power made the eyes of Caiaphus's avian body bulge. However, TMV, Prudence, Kensei, and JaggerJack left, so Caiaphus was able to take Klak to the True Temple in the end. There, he established a mental connection with Klak, which he attempted to use to turn Klak to the shadows and goad him into attacking the Matoran in a Black Suit.[citation needed]
Caiaphus later requested to join the Conquistadores Guild, but was forced to take an initiation test that involved battling Jozu. Caiaphus reluctantly accepted, but his avian body was punched out by Jozu; however, Caiaphus claimed that his "defeat" was part of a larger scheme.[citation needed]
Caiaphus finally left the avian's body in favor of inhabiting the True Temple itself, which transformed into a gigantic robot.[2]
