In the Dark Mirror Universe, Makuta Teridax was a member of the resistance against Tuyet. After Tuyet was slain, he began plotting to take over the Matoran Universe.

History[edit | edit source]

Dark Mirror[edit | edit source]

The Makuta species was targeted for extinction by the Toa Empire when the Empire took over the Matoran Universe, forcing Teridax and his kindred to go into hiding in the Metru Nui Archives. In one of the Empire's attacks, Teridax's mask, the Kanohi Kraahkan, was obtained by Tuyet and placed in an exhibit in the Archives that would alert her if anyone tried to steal it. Because Teridax could not risk alerting Tuyet to his location by attempting to retrieve the Kraahkan, he was forced to don an infected Kanohi Hau instead. As more and more Makuta were hunted down and killed, Teridax became one of the last surviving members of his species, along with Krika and Kojol.[1]

In 3500 ADP, Teridax discovered Takua, Takanuva, and Dume in the Archives, shapeshifting into the form of Tuyet to them to the Makuta enclave. When Teridax then dropped his disguise and questioned Takanuva about his motives, Takanuva explained that he was not from their universe and was searching for a being named Brutaka who he hoped could take him home. His interest piqued, Teridax offered to assist the Toa of Light if he first stole the Kanohi Vahi for the Makuta from a Toa Empire convoy led by Jaller.[1]

When Pohatu decided that the time had come for the resistance against Tuyet to strike at the Coliseum, he had Ahkmou notify the Makuta of his plans. Teridax led a squadron consisting of Krika, Kojol, Dume, and Takua into battle, but was forced to pull back for a moment when a Toa of Iron and a Toa of Plasma used their combined powers to kill Takua and Kojol. However, he soon charged into battle again, working with Krika to defeat Lewa with their Kraata powers: Krika used his Vacuum power to absorb Lewa's attacks so that Teridax could kill the Toa with a charged bolt of lightning. The two Makuta's closely-coordinated attacks met with great success, as many more Toa fell before them, which gave Takanuva the window of opportunity he needed to slip into the Coliseum and confront Tuyet.[2]

Dusk and Dawn[edit | edit source]

Teridax and Krika both survived the battle and stood victorious over the defeated Toa as Lesovikk declared that Tuyet was dead.[3] When Dume announced to the survivors that the remaining leaders of the factions of the Matoran Universe must meet with him in Ta-Metru to discuss the future of their world, Teridax and Krika attended the meeting to represent what was left of the Brotherhood of Makuta. During the meeting, Teridax hinted that he was developing plans of conquest that made the others' look like "a Rahi's fantasy", much to Krika's silent disdain.[4] Apparently, these plans involved the transformation of a Matoran named Sanox into a Toa of Shadows: Teridax told Krika that Sanox's power would be so great that Mata Nui himself would be affected, which would cause a cataclysm that would allow them to seize control of the universe.[5] Meanwhile, Teridax's plans kicked into motion as Sanox was drawn to the Kanohi Kraahkan in the Archives, donned the mask, and was transformed into a Toa of Shadows by a surge of energy within it.[4]

Post-Dusk and Dawn[edit | edit source]

In the subsequent war for control of the Matoran Universe, Teridax was witnessed fighting in the ruins of Metru Nui by D-Klak. He was temporarily ensnared by Karzahni's chains, but soon broke free.[6]

D-Klak's memory of the battle featuring Teridax was later resurfaced and replayed to D-Klak, Nadle, and the Norman when the trio entered the dream world that Klak had been trapped in by Mazkertis.[6]
