Rogues were a clan of bandits native to the Twelve Worlds.
Description[edit | edit source]
Rogues were known for being criminal masterminds who were experts in the art of trickery and illusion as well as being especially skilled with pistols and explosives.[1] One Rogue, Peeply Lulu, had the ability to create flames with her fingertips that were perfect for lighting the fuses of her bombs.[2] Despite their criminal tendencies, Rogues had a strong concept of honor and strove to keep their word in regards to any deals made with outside parties.[1]
The symbol of the Rogues was a skull and crossbones, which was often emblazoned on their clothes and equipment. Some Rogues used Boombots, small remote-controlled robots, to move their bombs for them on the battlefield.[1]
History[edit | edit source]
In 150,082 CMT, a group of Rogues consisting of Peeply Lulu and her brothers went to execute a heist in a museum on the Twelve Worlds. Although they arrived in the museum to find that it was not completely closed, Lulu and her brothers decided to continue with the heist regardless. When an unknown artifact in the museum "went berserk", Lulu bravely used her Boombot to hurl her brothers outside and away from the danger with little thought towards her own safety. As a result, she was bifurcated along the solar plexus region of her torso and killed instantly.[1]
Because of her selfless final action, Lulu's soul was counted among the kindly souls that were able to travel through Incarnam to be reincarnated elsewhere on the Twelve Worlds. However, unlike most Incarnates, Lulu was reincarnated outside the Bonta Outpost in Astrub with all her memories and abilities from her previous life intact. When a voice invited Lulu to enter the building, Lulu drew her pistol with suspicion and entered to find that the voice belonged to a giant anthropomorphic owl named Hoot, who introduced herself as the representative of the Bonta Region in the Council of the Wise. Hoot assured Lulu that her brothers were fine before explaining that she had died and had passed through Incarnam before being reincarnated outside the Bonta Outpost for Hoot to process as a new arrival to the region. Lulu initially dismissed Hoot and her new surroundings as an illusion or a memory replacement by guardsmen who wanted to interrogate her, but after spending two minutes trying to break the illusion to no avail, Lulu was forced to face reality. After convincing Lulu that she needed to seize her new chance at life, Hoot affixed a passport disc with a glowing green ring to Lulu's outfit and instructed her to take it to Owlboss in the center of Astrub so that he could officiate it and make her a citizen of Bonta. Lastly, Hoot warned Lulu to watch for her passport disk's reaction to the other new Incarnates and to be wary of Bontan boars. Lulu thanked Hoot and left,[1] collecting various small plants as she made her way through the night. She was suddenly charged by a trio of boars, but she sent them reeling with a bomb that she lit with her fingers and finished them off with her pistol.[2]
