In the Dark Mirror Universe, Karzahni was a warlord with immense telepathic powers. He was last seen making an alliance with the Shadowed One to seize power in the Matoran Universe.
History[edit | edit source]
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Karzahni was created by the Great Beings to rule one section of the Matoran Universe, the land of Karzahni (which he named after himself). His purpose was to repair injured Matoran workers who were periodically sent to him by the rulers of other islands. However, he was not very good at his job, because the Matoran he "fixed" would often end up smaller and weaker than they were when they arrived. To compensate for his lack of craftmanship skills, he was given immensely strong telepathic powers which were amplified by his unique mask, the Kanohi Olisi, the Mask of Alternate Futures. It was likely these powers that put him on the Toa Empire's radar.[1]
Eventually, the Toa Empire dispatched a squadron of Toa to Karzahni's realm to offer him an ultimatum: join them, or die. Karzahni chose the former. He was transferred to Ga-Metru's reeducation center and his telepathic powers were put to use indoctrinating new Toa and Matoran with Tuyet's beliefs.[2]
Dusk and Dawn[edit | edit source]
Following the death of Tuyet, Karzahni was one of the beings summoned by Dume to discuss what would happen to the universe without Tuyet. Karzahni was one of the representatives of what remained of the Empire. Like the Shadowed One, Karzahni thought it was pointless to diplomatically elect new leaders to govern parts of the universe, because someone on the council would likely made a grab for power anyway. By the end of the meeting, all attendants agreed that they would split into warring factions and that the winners would seize control over the universe.[3] To increase his chances of success, Karzahni allied himself with the Shadowed One.[4]
Post-Dusk and Dawn[edit | edit source]
In the subsequent war for control of the Matoran Universe, Karzahni was witnessed fighting in the ruins of Metru Nui by D-Klak. Karzahni immobilized Teridax by ensnaring him in his chains, but the Makuta quickly broke free.[5]
D-Klak's memory of the battle featuring Karzahni was later resurfaced and replayed to D-Klak, Nadle, and the Norman when the trio entered the dream world that Klak had been trapped in by Mazkertis.[5]
Abilities & Powers[edit | edit source]
- Telepathy: Karzahni had immense telepathic powers, strong enough to scan large areas with his mind and dig deep into the thoughts of others.[1]
- "Alternate Futures": With his Kanohi Olisi, Karzahni could induce visions of nightmarish possible future scenarios in his victims.[1]
