This article is about the member of the Teen Titans from an alternate universe. For the Malchiorian warrior of the same name, see Jinx (Malchiorian).

"Jinx" was a member of the Teen Titans who visited the Original Universe to deliver the Black Box to Zev Raregroove.

History[edit | edit source]

In 150,082 CMT, Jinx led her Teen Titans teammate Terra and the Doom Patrol member Negative Man on a mission to deliver the Black Box to Zev Raregroove. The three metahumans crossed over from their native universe to the Original Universe and emerged in the Battle of Omega Supreme, where they found Zev battered and struggling to maintain control of his body from his inner Hollow, Vez. Jinx disintegrated the bases of two of Omega Supreme's surface turrets with energy arcs, causing them to topple as she approached Zev alongside her comrades. In his disorientated state, Zev groggily told Jinx that there was already "another Jinx" elsewhere on the battlefield, which prompted Jinx to flirtatiously reply "Well, then, call me what you like!". This was rebuked by Negative Man, who thought it was "weird" to flirt with people from other universes, but Jinx ignored him.[2]

As Jinx prepared to hand the Black Box to Zev, Serrator blasted the group with lightning, sending them flying and tossing the Black Box out of their reach. Though Serrator stumbled Jinx a second time by sending Zev crashing into her, she rose to her feet again and caused the ground beneath the demon to disintegrate, creating a sinkhole that swallowed him whole. Jinx assumed that the sinkhole had been enough to defeat Serrator and began to walk away, but this proved to be a vital mistake, for Serrator leaped from the ground and lacerated her back with a flurry of slashes. Before Serrator could land a final blow, Zev intervened and hit the demon with several rapid blows to the face in a fit of rage - precisely the reaction that Serrator had aimed to elicit from Zev in the first place. Serrator declared that Zev had passed the "first test" and teleported away, leaving him to deal with the visibly injured and shaken Jinx, Terra, and Negative Man.[3] Yoruichi Shihouin carried Jinx and Negative Man as the allies escaped the battlefield through a hatch on Omega Supreme's surface that took them into a network of tunnels.[4]

The group were soon attacked by more demons led by Antberry,[5] but the intervention of Aisha Clanclan, Hilda, and Ryoko Hakubi gave Yoruichi and Namah an opportunity to tend to the wounds of Jinx, Terra, and Negative Man. At the conclusion of the battle, Fenrich opened a portal that sucked in all of Zev's allies and transported them to the Netherworld - but everyone was separated in the transfer, and Jinx has not been seen since.[6]

Abilities & Powers[edit | edit source]

  • Probability Manipulation: Jinx had the power to manipulate "luck" and could cause negative possibilities to occur in any given situation; thereby "jinxing" whoever or whatever she targeted. Jinx often activated this power mentally (which would cause her eyes to glow pink) without the need for any physical movement, but this power could also be manifested as pink-colored, lightning-like energy blasts that Jinx could project from her hands in battle. Jinx could cause these energy blasts to have concussive effects on enemies or could amplify their power to disrupt the cohesion of solid objects, causing them to disintegrate.[3]

  1. Serrator (OU) (revision on 10:13, Mar 26, 2012): "Enemies: Jurai, specifically Zev Raregroove. Perhaps Terra of the Teen Titans? [...] Serrator teleported to the location of Zev Raregroove, Terra and an entirely unrelated Jinx from another Universe (specifically that of the Teen Titans), and Negative Man from the same alternate Universe. After blasting them all with lightning and causing Zev to drop the black box that the team had been sent to give him, Serrator proceeded to taunt them while quickly and cruelly dispatching the group".
