Carcin Noise were giant crab-like creatures that inhabited the Underground. They were controlled by the Composer as part of the Tournament of the Dead.
History[edit | edit source]
In 150,080 CMT, Carcin Noise surrounded the crowd of deceased characters who the Composer had resurrected in the Underground to enlist in the Tournament of the Dead. As the crabs closed in on the crowd,[1] Rahn begrudgingly allied himself with Akzer, Tidal Wave, Tulio, and the unidentified gelatinous apprentice to increase his chances of survivability against the crabs.[2] When the Composer ordered the players to touch the crabs to proceed to their first challenge,[3] The Guy Who Was Engulfed In Milk poked a crab,[4] which transported the Happy Person and himself to a deserted street-like environment that existed across two parallel planes of existence: although neither could see the other on the street, they felt that they were in the same place and shared sensations, with the Happy Person feeling the blow of a stone that hit TGWWEIM. The Composer then gave them their first challenge: to defeat the crabs. As a crab appeared before each man in the middle of the street, the Composer explained "The crabs before you both share the same physical health, as do you two, if I were to kill one of you, the other one will die too".[5]
Meanwhile, the disembodied voice of Sho Minamimoto warned the crowd of the deceased that any player who did not destroy at least one crab would be deleted after twenty posts.[5] In response, Akzer and Rahn each grabbed an arm of one of the crabs while Tidal Wave and two other former Apprentices of Caiaphus began to attack it from the front. However, Tulio attacked a different crab entirely.[6] Meanwhile, TGWWEIM picked up a rock and charged at the crab in front of him.[7]
Eventually, Akzer, Rahn, and the others injured their crab enough to escape to another area, where they began plotting to steal the Pins of other players so that they could gather enough strength to escape from the UG altogether.[8]
