This article is about the battle that occurred in the Shattered Mirror Universe. For other meanings of "Battle of Destral", see Battle of Destral (disambiguation).
The Battle of Destral occurred when SMY fought SM Trantoshen for control of the Brotherhood of Makuta on Destral.
Background[edit | edit source]
The disappearance of the Brotherhood of Makuta's leader, Kakamu, created a power vacuum in the organization that was temporarily filled by his second-in-command, Ynot. However, Ynot soon left Destral to begin conquering the other islands of the Matoran Universe,[1] which gave Kakamu's adoptive son, Trantoshen, a window of opportunity to take over the Brotherhood himself. To this end, SM Trantoshen sent his minions through the Shattered Mirror to capture the Original Universe's Trantoshen: SMT tried to sway OU Trantoshen to his cause by telling him that SMY had a superweapon on Destral that would enable SMY to conquer the universe, but OU Trantoshen didn't care. SMT managed to take control of Destral anyway, but OU Trantoshen attacked him. They began fighting each other, but stopped when SMY returned to Destral with an invasion force and launched an attack of his own.[2]
Description[edit | edit source]
Ynot was not happy when he heard that Trantoshen had taken control of Destral, so he and Sasuken launched an attack on the island with forces loyal to them,[3] which included at least one Tahtorak and the Zivon. Trantoshen responded by deploying his armies of Bohrok and Visorak-Rahkshi hybrids against them, but they were unable to prevent Ynot from breaching the fortress walls and attacking Trantoshen. Trantoshen was then dragged into the path of a Tahtorak, so he used a Kanohi Komau to try to force it to attack the Zivon, but was crushed in the process. Fortunately, he was recovered by Spiriah. SMT sat up and thanked him, but before he could return to the battle, something quite random happened: three people called Breakout, Blockade and Brawler from the Eternal Universe appeared and found Trantoshen to be in violation of something called the Universe-Travelling Restriction Act 1999, so they threw him in a portal and disappeared.[2] Because Trantoshen had vanished, Ynot claimed victory and seized control of the Brotherhood once more.[1]

However, this was a trick to get Trantoshen to help him in his successful attempt to take over Destral. The two Trantoshens began fighting each other, but this fight was forgotten when SMY's forces attacked. Despite SMT's armies of Bohrok and Visorak/Rahkshi hybrids, SMY still managed to break into the fortress and attack Trantoshen. SMT then ended up being dragged into the path of a raging Tahtorak. He used a Komau to force the Tahtorak to attack a Zivon, but was crushed in the process and recovered by Spiriah. Afterwards, SMT sat up and thanked Spiriah, but then something quite random happened: three people called Breakout, [Blockade] and Brawler from the Eternal Universe appeared and found Trantoshen to be in violation of something called the Universe-Travelling Restriction Act 1999, threw him in a portal, and disappeared."
- ↑ Sasuken (SMU) (revision on 18:15, Dec 11, 2011): "Sasuken pointed out how creepy Ynot's mind slaves were, and then was told that they needed to go to Destral, which had just been taken over by Trantoshen. Once there, he pointed out some obvious things and offered to track down SMT. He then joined Ynot in his siege of Destral."
