@ Malygos:
Washu: [Smiles at the new wing] Hmmm...Energy fusion. I do believe I'm detecting the Holy portion of your magic; I take if you've mastered all basic magical elements, right?
[She smiles]
Washu: Now...You've essentially mastered the defensive properties of one Lighthawk Wing. You just need to raise that number. [She hops out of the mecha, before continuing] This will require deep focus...I want you to do a sort of 'meditation'. Look deep inside your very being, to find the energy you haven't tapped into yet...Don't be impulsive and try and draw out all at once; you'll hurt yourself and reduce your own potential.
[Quietly, Washu closes her own eyes]
[Suddenly, from before her own chest unfurl six wings in a circle, each one consisting of two elongated triangles connected at the single narrowed ends.]
[She opens her eyes again]
Washu: It's as easy as that. You have as much potential as anyone I've ever seen -- An old friend of mine once said something pertinent to this, though he talked weird:
[Giving a thumbs-up, Washu smiles in a more friendly way]
Washu: 'There is no try; only do'. You don't have to try and find your inner power, or try to keep enough focus and temperance to proceed slowly. All you have to do...Is do it.
[She suddenly goes back to professional-mode]
Washu: Okay, enough pep talk. Time to give you some incentive: There's a group of young wizards who are huge fans of yours watching right now. If you succeed, you'll become a hero to the mages of the future -- If you fail...Well. I'm sure you know how fast rumors spread among the Vei Faction.
[Cackling, Washu takes a seat atop a rock, her crab mecha disappeared]
Washu: Alright, give it a shot. I've got a little something prepared so you don't blow up anything while harnessing the second Wing, and we're in a special barrier that will only deactivate once that Wing is manifested -- Stay focused, take as long as you need, and remember: It's better to proceed slowly but safely than quickly with risk.
[Without another word, she takes out some kind of manga and starts reading]
...
[Back aboard the Sōja]
Zev: [Has finally recovered from Ryoko's attack] I'm sorry again...Ryoko...I was a real jerk...Are we cool again...?
Ryoko: ...You're forgiven. Just keep the insensitive comments to a minimum.
Zev: [Sniff] Okay...
Misaki: [Finally returns from the kitchen] Aww, I'm so glad you two made up~! I can tell you two aren't hungry, but I brought something for our guests:
[From the floor, a semi-triangular table with three chairs rises up for Anzu, Doppler and Tyrigosa; Misaki swiftly sets three plates of...Something down for them.]
Misaki: You don't have to eat if you don't want to...But I just get a feeling you might want some. It's called loco moco! [She giggles] Hee hee! I love that name!
[The loco moco is slathered in gravy, but what looks like white rice can be seen buried at the very bottom]
Misaki: A bed of white rice, two hamburgers, a layer of gravy, two eggs over-easy, and more gravy. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, as long as you're hungry!
Zev: Most people I know can eat an average serving of my mom's version, and then go on a two week expedition in the jungle without getting hungry.
Misaki: If you all don't want it, I've found a neat invention by Washu that preserves food perfectly -- No refridgeration, even! But please, eat if you're hungry.
[She suddenly turns to Zev]
Misaki: Son, is the training room onboard this ship still open?
Zev: ...Yes.
Misaki: Good~! I've gotten a bit out of practice on my fencing~! [Strolls away]
Zev: ...I don't think we have a setting high enough...
Ryoko: Judging from her hugs, you might just be right.
Zev: So...Anzu. You wanna take bets on how fast it takes mom to beat every setting? There's ten settings...So I'm thinking about...Twenty minutes, max; probably ten minutes. I've never beaten the last two settings Washu put in...But then again, every time my mom and I sparred, she put me in a submission lock within two minutes.
Ryoko: Normally I'd bet on this, but I want to save my money.
