This article is about the team of superpowered human mutants on Earth. For the team of Terugan mutants who were named after the X-Men, see X-Yen.

The X-Men were a team of superpowered human mutants who operated on Earth.

History[edit | edit source]

In 150,081 CMT, the X-Men member Rogue gained Spider-Man's power by absorbing a portion of his life force and used it to string up the other X-Men in the X-Mansion and turn them into puppets. She then screamed "THIS IS WHY WOLVERINE NEEDS A CURFEW" (presumably because, in some Marvel Comics continuities, Wolverine was a mentor to Rogue who helped her control her powers and emotions, and he was away from the X-Mansion at the time).[1]

The X-Men also had a comic book based on them that Shockwave was a fan of. When Krika told him that he had discovered how to alter the Terugans' genetic structure to grant them superpowers, Shockwave said "in other words, you think we can create our own team of X-Terugans". Krika would not go as far as to reference Earth comic books,[2] but Shockwave ended up naming the mutants "X-Men" anyway and named each of them after a specific member of the X-Men (or one of their nemeses, in Juggernaut's case). The name of the mutated Terugans was later changed to "X-Yen" to avoid confusion with the actual X-Men team.[3]
