Uteriach di Armechio

Uteriach di Armechio is the Generalissimo of the Vongolan People's Republic. Once a soldier for the great Dachori Empire, Uteriach now leads the so-called "Republic" as its military dictator, ambitiously spreading its ideology throughout the cosmos in the hopes that he can create a new galactic empire. But lately, he has been haunted by nightmares of gathering doom for the galaxy.

History[edit | edit source]

Loyal to the End[edit | edit source]

Uteriach was born to the Armechio household on the 13th Day of Coleita Oltima (the Earth equivalent being November 13th), 1991 BR on Shinar-Karana, the capital world of the Dachori Empire (also known by other species as the Rider Empire).

Like many Rider men and women, Uteriach was enrolled in the military when he was of legal age. Over the centuries, he participated in multiple campaigns on countless worlds, including the planet Xilnara in 1756 BR. It was here where he first encountered the Aleph Point of the Reborn Universe.

Hundreds of years passed. Despite all of his fighting, he stood defenseless as the Dachori Empire collapsed. Uteriach bounced between various imperial remnants, pledging himself to warlord after warlord. But eventually, the coalition formed by the Vrai, Phantom Lords, Dantos Cal, and other species overcame all of the remnants. Uteriach was captured and sold into slavery.

A New Home[edit | edit source]

Almost a millennia later, Uteriach finally gained freedom from the Vrai and the Phantom Lords for himself and his family, though his wife had already died. He decided to take his sons and daughter to the planet Vongola, a spiritually significant world in the Tuvar system that was once used as a staging post for a Dachori invasion and had since then been populated by multiple Riders--along with the native K'thaan. They decided to live a relatively simple life, keeping to their own. However, Uteriach desired to one day help restore his people to their former glory.

When human colonists arrived, Uteriach eventually decided to integrate the family into the Kingdom of Vongola and joined the country's military. His children served in various positions under multiple monarchs, until Uteriach eventually became a general.

Revolution[edit | edit source]

For years, the masses, both human and non-human, felt the effects of the corrupt government. Though Vongola claimed to be a prosperous planet, noble relatives of the monarchs and loyalists often were the only ones with power and wealth. The middle class was small enough to be considered a sham. To cover up for this, the rulers would often create social and financial welfare programs to soothe the concerns of the impoverished and quell any dissenters. But they would simultaneously enact bizarre and tyrannical laws, including censorship and unfair taxation. Those that did not comply with these measures were often violently repressed. The oppressive tactics of the Vongolan regime reached unparalleled levels of violence under the arrogant King Agnes Oncé, whose rule also saw an increase in inequality at all levels. These conditions allowed a wave of socialist and populist fervor to spread throughout the Vongolan population.

Whether it was personal ambition or a true desire to effect change, Uteriach was one of the primary instigators behind the spread of such fervor in the military. He helped form a secret committee of anti-monarchist generals in 0 AR. After much deliberation, the committee--at Uteriach's suggestion--decided it was time to act. A coup d'etat was imminent, one that would spark a revolution.

Uteriach orchestrated key elements of the putsch plot. First, the military would seize the palace and force Oncé to abdicate. Then, civilians loyal to the revolution would take control of several government buildings. While all this would be happening, a recording of the committee's principles would be broadcasted throughout the Kingdom through a holographic transmission. Uteriach also had decided that to personally end the monarchy, he would trick King Oncé into capturing him. The Rider's plan had worked, and the monarchy was gone. Of course, Uteriach took the opportunity to make an example of King Oncé, killing him. He then named himself Generalissimo: leader of the revolutionary committee of generals which would help govern the newly-formed Vongolan People's Republic.

But the job was not yet done. Uteriach pressured the planet's global parliament into accepting a new constitution using mob tactics. Now, the parliament would never stand in his way. Meanwhile, special Forces squadrons of the Vongolan military, handpicked by the generals themselves, engaged in secret purges of the nobility and the wealthy citizenry that lived nearest to Oncé City (most notably, those living in Burjua). No one in the public was informed, and only those who had previously pledged absolute loyalty to Uteriach and his allies (or those who had escaped with Thomas Phaedrus Kane) survived.

The revolution continued to spread. The neighboring planet Tuvar’quóth soon established a government similar to the one on Vongola. Furthermore, the planet Krustallos fell under the VPR's sway.

Some time after these events, Uteriach began to reach out to intergalactic leaders, such as Sefer Yetzirah of the Takemikazuchi Empire, Gabriel Ascheron of the Republic of Luria and the Ascheron Kingdom Demenses, and Edward Allman of the Tanari Confederation--in the hopes that he could find allies. However, only the latter two accepted, creating an alliance that sealed their fate.

Meanwhile, Joshua Kozín--a supposed revolutionary loyalist--revealed himself to be part of a growing counter-revolutionary resistance. He, alongside Thomas P. Kane and many other dissenters, created the Vongolan Rebel Front, which Malchior IV and other planets eventually backed.

The Tanari-Takemikazuchi War and a Civil War[edit | edit source]

The aforementioned alliance ensured that Uteriach would enter the Vongolan People's Republic into the Tanari and Lurian's war against the Takemikazuchi Empire, Malchior, and other states. At some point during the war, Uteriach's son Figlio di Armechio used the Craft of Laigula to allow the Amun Collective to return to this side of the galaxy to aid the Tanari. However, the Collective was successfully driven back and contained to two worlds.

Despite being split between two wars, the VPR military fought bravely across the galaxy. However, the Takemikazuchi and their allies gained the upper hand around the same time the Vongolan Civil War began to worsen. Later on, a Malchiorian squadron led by Klak secretly captured and imprisoned Uteriach for war crimes. The war later ended after a joint force of Malchiorians, Takemikazuchi, and Galactic Government remnant armies invaded Tanari Prime. Krustallos' sovereignty was restored, but the Vongolans' bizarre diplomacy during the peace negotiations ensured that they remained in a state of war with the Malchiorians.

Meanwhile, Vongola soon plunged into chaos as its civil war intensified. Figlio di Armechio, now Generalissimo, intensified oppression while fighting brutally against the Rebel Front.

Imprisonment, then Freedom[edit | edit source]

Uteriach was transferred to a secret Malchiorian prison. The rest of the galaxy believed him to be dead, but key officials in the Malchiorian government knew the truth. When Klak Vell became the President of Malchior, he and Uteriach struck a deal: Uteriach would provide key military secrets and the location of secret weapons from the Dachori Empire to help them prepare for an eventual war against Sefer's oppressive New Order.

Despite complying with their agreement, Uteriach longed to escape. He was also plagued by horrid nightmares which seemed to foreshadow destruction at the hands of multiple incoming threats, including a mysterious eldritch entity. Luckily, help arrived. A team of Diamond Dog operatives, mercenaries, a Vongolan spy, and a Malchiorian dissident all worked together to break him out.

Uteriach finally returned home. But not long after his arrival, the heavens fell. The Shattering had come to Vongola.

Description[edit | edit source]

Appearance[edit | edit source]

Like most Riders, Uteriach is phenotypically almost indistinguishable from a human, with icy blue eyes and long golden hair. But his face hides his true ancient age, and his physical appearance obscures more alien internal anatomy. Furthermore, he possesses a height that is considered tall by most humans, but is relatively standard for Riders: 7'3".

Uteriach often wears golden Dachori armor.

Personality[edit | edit source]

Uteriach is devoted to his cause. He believes that the Vongolan revolution will be the means through which he can bring about a Second Dachori Empire, one that is superior to, and fairer than, its predecessor. He is willing to risk nearly everything for his beliefs--save for his family. His zeal combines well with boundless charisma and charm, making him a potent leader. He is often cold and calculating but is prone to occasional fits of rage (though nothing like his son Figlio's explosive temper). Uteriach nonetheless can be arrogant at times, which leads to his downfall.

He is firm but loving towards his son and often wistfully recalls his married life. Nevertheless, he has rejected his daughter Alda for her refusal to go along with the Vongolan revolution.

Uteriach is fairly devoted to the old Dachori gods and often invokes them. He considers dreams to be omens and seems to be anxious about an incoming doom.

Abilities & Powers[edit | edit source]

As a Dachori, Uteriach is faster, stronger, and heartier than many other humanoid species. He also possesses increased endurance, stronger skin, and sturdier bones. He is able to live for centuries without aging substantially, owing both to the Rider's natural lifespan and their own genetic modifications. Additionally, eons of military training make him a deadly warrior.

In addition to his physical prowess, Uteriach also possesses a keen mind and a charismatic character, plotting constantly and persuading others to follow him to the ends of the universe.
