The Battle of Destral is a story written by Heat that expands on the Battle of Destral, a climatic battle that occurred in the original BZPB RPG. Because all records of the battle were lost in the Great Dataclysm, this story serves as a canon reference point for it.

Summary[edit | edit source]

On Destral, the armed headquarters of the Brotherhood of Makuta, half of Makuta Blackout's worst enemies have gathered to stop him and his army from taking over the Matoran Universe. Jarr, Kinex, Marlon, and an allied Matoran hold Blackout at gunpoint, but Blackout disarms them by transforming into a swarm of nanites, then shapeshifting back into his humanoid form and blasting them into the sea with the help of fellow Makuta Grahmah and Xintrix.

Blackout is then attacked by Ynot and Silver-Silver at the same time, the former using Ka-Oni-Santsu in his fight. The two allies manage to overwhelm Blackout, but Grahmah and Xintrix reappear to throw them off. Ynot is then trapped in a duel with Blackout, so he tells Silver-Silver to go and disable the Theta Gate while he still has the chance. Silver-Silver obeys, fighting off Grahmah and Xintrix to get to the Gate, but his passage is blocked by Oda'Itkan, who immediately launches an attack.

In the skies above, three Dreadnought-class airships allied with Ynot and Silver-Silver prepare to fire on Destral, but are intercepted by Ferox, who is commanding the Nemesis. The Nemesis destroys one of the Dreadnoughts and engages in an aerial battle with the remaining two. The Dreadnoughts eventually gain the upper hand, so Ferox orders a retreat.

Back on the roof of the base, Silver-Silver blasts Oda'Itkan into the Theta Gate's control panel, causing a malfunction that causes some energy to split off from the Gate and create a different portal, which begins to suck in everything around it. Oda'Itkan wounds Silver-Silver, but Silver-Silver manages to survive by blasting Oda'Itkan into the portal. Unfortunately, he is soon sucked in too.

In the duel between Blackout and Ynot, Blackout forces Ynot to step backwards into the Snare. Ynot realizes his mistake too late, and is sent into Chronospace, where he is able to witness Blackout's takeover of the universe but unable to prevent it. With Ynot, Silver-Silver, and Jarr all gone, Blackout is able to claim victory. He uses a transmission device to speak with everyone in the Matoran Universe and tells them that they must deconstruct it in order to survive the death of Mata Nui. The persuasion particles get to work, and so does everyone else.

Elsewhere in the universe, Silver-Silver finds himself in a barren landscape that he does not recognize: Bara Magna.
