Thanagarians are a sentient humanoid species who were allied with the Great Beings in the Uterio War.

Description[edit | edit source]

Physically, Thanagarians much resemble humans, but with gigantic wings sprouting from their backs. They are stronger than humans and have greater stamina and resistance to pain. Their lifespan is also significantly longer; they age at around 30% the rate that humans do. Their eyesight is incredibly acute and their range of vision is comparable to that of a bird. The same applies to their auditory senses: they can perceive sounds with greater clarity than that of the average human.

On average, Thanagarians are also much more intelligent than humans: Thanagarian society is highly technologically advanced and virtually free of poverty and crime.

History[edit | edit source]

At some point prior to the Uterio War, the Thanagarians allied themselves with the Order of the Great Beings.

Coinciding with the Battle of Corrantia, a Thanagarian ship approached the Dark Tide and the Drunken Ferret and hailed both ships, stating that they were wanted for questioning over the fugitives Ynot and Osseron, collaborators of the Rebel Alliance. Osseron responded by firing a barrage of missiles and EMP blasts at the Thanagarian ships, disabling their shields. One of the Thanagarians put on a spacesuit and jumped onto the Drunken Ferret, slashing it with a halberd, while Osseron, K'theenya, Ferret, Blue, Liz, Patti, Crona, and Ragnarok teleported onto the Thanagarian ship. After an encounter with a witch sent by Lord Void, the ragtag group managed to defeat or kill everyone on board, neutralizing the threat.

Much, much later, two Thanagarian prisoners were freed from a Malchiorian prison by Raziel on the condition that they serve him. They flew up to engage Ado Edem in combat, but Edem slashed their wings, causing them to fall and hit the ground hard. The dazed Thanagarians were restrained and dragged back into the prison by two of the prison guards.
