A Spinner is a type of flying car that can function as both a conventional land vehicle and a vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft.

History[edit | edit source]

In 150,084 CMT, the New York City Police Department sent a search party consisting of a dozen police spinners through a portal to the Stouttish Islands to investigate a claim that the criminal fugitive Ross Mandell had travelled there. The search party broadcasted a message on multiple wavelengths to inform the islanders that a police search for Ross Mandell had begun and that anyone found refusing to comply with the NYPD would be considered to be obstructing the pursuit of justice and would be taken back to Earth for questioning. As the NYPD spinners descended on the islands, one broke formation and chased after an ordinary car on the surface (which belonged to Tourettes Guy) that seemed to be fleeing from the arriving search party. The police officer behind the wheel of the spinner produced a megaphone and instructed the Tourettes Guy to pull over, but the Tourettes Guy ignored him and leaned out of the window to spout a string of profanities at the officer instead. However, the distraction caused Tourettes Guy to lose control of the car in doing so and crash into a tree, the impact flinging him through the windshield as the pursuing spinner parked behind him. The police officer stepped out of the spinner and prepared to arrest Tourettes Guy, but was suddenly disabled by Chris with a pepper spray[1] and knocked unconscious with a punch to the face.[2]

Moments later, another police spinner caught up to the Moonbase Alpha Astronaut and arrested him when he ran out of breath. Two policemen stepped out of the spinner and began to question the astronaut as to why he had tried to run from them, but were interrupted by the shouts of Tourettes Guy and Chris nearby. The policemen gave chase and eventually caught up to the two fugitives, tackling and handcuffing them. Tourettes Guy, Chris, and the Moonbase Alpha Astronaut were then loaded into the back of the police spinner to be taken back to Earth for questioning. Because that particular spinner was only large enough to accommodate two officers in the front and three prisoners in the back, the officers decided to leave sooner than the rest of the search party to take the prisoners back to their headquarters. The spinner flew into the sky and returned through the NYPD-created portal to New York City.[2]
