In the near future, Sir Hecklock Homie was a private investigator who joined Sulrai Private Eye to investigate cases in Task City.

Description[edit | edit source]

Sir Hecklock Holmie was a member of an unknown species that resembled 3D computer-generated emoticons. His face consisted of two eyebrows above round eyes and a mouth, all of which were located on the front of a circular yellow torso. Hecklock's hands, which resembled four-fingered white gloves, and feet, which resembled boots, were not attached to the rest of his body, but he still somehow retained full control over them. Hecklock usually wore a Sherlock Holmes-inspired deerstalker hat[1] with pizza underneath[2] and a plaid robe, with the addition of a trenchcoat and a heckless field generator if he did not want people to give a heck about his appearance.[3]

Hecklock also carried around an oversized magnifying glass and a pipe,[1] even though he had quit smoking because he deemed it to be "heckling health nonsense of psuedo-sophistication".[4]

History[edit | edit source]

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Little information exists about Sir Hecklock's life before Task City, but he once stated that he was the sole private detective on his homeworld.[5] Hecklock's father would tell him tales of when he encountered the Juacs of Rahat, including Kon Juac, who made a courageous sacrifice that has yet to be elaborated upon.[6] Hecklock also once studied the philosophies of Kuggicus Kug.[7]

Case #2: Ludovic Marois[edit | edit source]

In 150,099 CMT, Hecklock visited Sulrai Private Eye to apply to become one of their private investigators.[1] Rainn Sulrai welcomed Hecklock because there was an opening for a new investigator,[8] so Hecklock moved his luggage into the building and made himself comfortable.[9] In response to a question by Aster,[10] Hecklock explained that he had used a heckless field generator to make the ordinary people he passed on the way to the office not give a heck about his unusual appearance.[3] Rainn then briefed Hecklock on their latest case:[11] a string of murders in the French Quarter of the city where most of the victims had been involved with gangs, save for the latest victim Ludovic Marois, who had been killed the previous night.[12] After Calaran joined[5] Hecklock, Rainn, Aster, and Jasper Silverwood,[13] the detectives headed into a subway to take a train to the scene of the murder.[14]

Hecklock's heckless field generator granted him free access through the subway checkpoints,[15] but this bothered Rainn, who quoted Kuggicus Kug by saying "Don't Ever Do That Again" to Hecklock.[16] However, Hecklock recognized the quote and replied with another of Kug's: "Haha Just sayin".[7] When Hecklock arrived at the train line, a boy tipped a hat that looked like a pizza at him.[17] In response, Hecklock tipped his own hat, revealing pizza underneath.[2] Hecklock and his comrades then stepped onto the train as it arrived and rode it to the French Quarter.[17]

At the crime scene, Hecklock examined a bullet hole that had punctured a wall behind the victim and deduced that it was a "trickshot" that could have only been executed by a professional.[18] Hecklock then examined CCTV footage of the murder with Chief Inspector Alexander and Calvin Taylor, which showed the assassin's car stopping next to the bus stop, followed by the assassin shooting Marois and driving away with a bag that Marois had been carrying. Hecklock noted that the assassin used an antique .41 magnum, so he implored the police to investigate other records of the gun's appearance in the city.[19] Rainn then suggested that Hecklock and Calaran should take some TCPD investigators to Marois's workplace to look for other clues,[20] so Hecklock, Calaran,[21] and Officer Akol Juac[22] followed his advice and took a car to Marois's workplace, Ludovic's Metalworkings.[21]

During the ride there, Hecklock learned that Akol Juac was the son of Kon Juac, a Juac of Rahat who Hecklock's father had once told him about.[6]

When Hecklock and Juac arrived at Ludovic's Metalworkings,[23] the clerk there testified that Marois had never acted suspiciously until he left work with an unknown bag on the night of the murder.[24] However, the clerk refused to say more about the bag, which made Hecklock suspicious of him. Hecklock ordered Juac to request a search warrant for Marois's home while Hecklock himself turned up his heckless field generator to make himself invisible to the clerk in order to spy on his behavior.[25]

Case #3: Valentine Clark[edit | edit source]

Over a month after Ludovic Marois's murder had been solved,[26] Hecklock arrived at Sulrai Private Eye with Masketta Man just in time for a new assignment, despite the fact that Rainn had not called either of them.[4] Rainn informed the gathered detectives - Hecklock, Masketta Man, Aster, and Jasper - that their latest assignment was to attend Ramona Clark's birthday party as undercover bodyguards and protect her controversial husband Valentine Clark from any would-be assailants.[27]

Two days later, the four detectives arrived at the Clarks' mansion dressed in appropriate attire save for Hecklock, whose heckless field generator was sufficient to disguise himself with. Hecklock commented that the heckless field generator would also affect Masketta Man due to his close proximity to the device, which would work in Masketta Man's favor due to his "ugle afff face". Masketta replied by saying that Hecklock had a "long caca face", but dropped the banter when they went inside.[28] When Masketta Man left to follow a suspicious-looking man, Hecklock bumped into the famous NFL All-Star Deing Abdelkadir K. and complimented him on his performance in a game the week prior. After some more small talk, Hecklock decide to investigate elsewhere, leaving Deing clueless as to what the heck he just saw.[29]
