"There was once a noble race. But they evolved to live off other beings. In due time they adapted to their new lifestyle, becoming small, white creatures"
- - Encyclopaedia Takania (86:2)
Parasitic Fluff are white, very small, partially-intelligent pieces of living cotton that infect people by attaching themselves to somebody's armour and crawling inside. Most of their abilities are unknown, although they like to absorb antidermis. It is not known where they came from, how they reproduce, or what their goal is, but there's a lot of them.
While a single piece of fluff can be deadly, they usually prefer to travel in clusters so that they resemble clouds. This way, they can hide in plain sight without anyone suspecting that a fluff colony could be lurking above them, ready to descend at any moment. They have been known to also be able to travel through space, and are highly resistant to most forms of energy except shadow energy.
While they are called "Parasitic Fluff", they have only ever been known to bond with one being: A Living Star named Flare. This is probably a result of the star's extreme manoeuvrability and a never-ending ignition of burning chemicals on his skin.
Before they speak, they have to think of the coding for individual words inside their heads. If they get one single code wrong they say an entirely different word. This is why what they say doesn't often make sense.
