Nguyen Khan is a professor and "old friend" of "Hot Ice" Hilda. He is a distinctly unhinged man who's been hinted at possessing an odd condition related to his level of intelligence. He's incredibly intelligent, as he built Hilda's arm, signature blaster, and ship, but all the same, Professor Khan's presence oozes with an unsettling aura. He's also the creator/"father" of Desco.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Though largely benign and amicable, as mentioned, Nguyen Khan is an abstruse man with a deranged air. He tends to repeat phrases over and over again, as well as talking to himself. While he's very calm and friendly, Professor Khan's curiosity and insistent pursuit of knowledge become very unsettling, very quickly in conjunction with his other traits. Overall, he's just incredibly creepy. Additionally, he has shown that he has a highly amoral nature - Willingly sealing away a creation who viewed him as her father, calling her useless when she became "obsolete."

History[edit | edit source]

Nguyen Khan was first met briefly while Hilda and Yoruichi Shihouin were moving to rendezvous with the rest of their group. There, it was revealed that he build Hilda's mechanical arm, signature blaster, and ship. He disappeared for a while after being left in the noxious tunnels below Zev Raregroove's Netherworld fortress, before sending a machine ahead of the group to the Forbidden Cell. There, his automaton freed Desco from her seal, and unleashed her to attack the group. His present whereabouts are unknown.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • While talking to Hilda, Nguyen mentioned the "Hex" and the "Desperado"; it is assumed that the former refers to her blaster, as the latter is confirmed to be her ship.
  • In Japanese, Professor Khan's name is グエン・カーン (Guen Kān). This has been transliterated as both Gwen Khan and Nguyen Khan, with most of the internet accepting the "Gwen Khan" spelling. However, Wikipedia uses "Nguyen Khan", and so does User:Zev.
