Naterohk (originally Natero) is a Toa of Water and the Toa Yerta's sense of direction.

History[edit | edit source]

Early Life[edit | edit source]

Naterohk was created naturally by the Kestora as a Ga-Matoran named Natero a few years prior to the Matoran Civil War. Before the war, she had no interest in working, instead choosing to stay at home and watch the stars. Eventually teaching astronomy became her ambition, but before she could get the chance to work towards it, the Matoran Civil War broke out. When she heard that an army of Po-Matoran were approaching the city to ransack it, she stole a small raft and pushed it out to sea. Scared and confused, she drifted alone in the sea for around a week, during which she counted the stars for comfort, and observed lightning bolts strike an unseen object floating on the water on the horizon. Weak with hunger and somewhat delirious, her raft eventually washed up on one of the Southern Islands, where she was nursed back to health by a bizarre bipedal creature with large yellow eyes.

Stranded on the island, the creature taught Natero how to fight and how to hunt. She formed a close bond with the creature, who identified itself as "Terohk". Natero and Terohk frequently passed time throwing things into a pool of energized protodermis on the island, seeing what would happen. One day, Terohk went down to the pool on his own, which turned out to be a dangerous mistake. The pool transformed into the Energized Protodermis Entity and killed him. Ignoring Natero, it sailed over the water to destinations unknown. Natero became depressed and defeatist, believing that she was doomed to die on the island alone, until Toa Rabot and Toa Tanrus arrived in a large ship. Her hope refilled, Natero ran to the ship and explained to the Toa that she was the only one on the island, and would very much like a lift. Rabot offered to give her more than that, as he handed over a Toa Stone and a request for her to join his team. She accepted, and as she activated her stone, she told them that her name was "Naterohk", merging her name with that of her deceased friend's in memory of him.

Toa Yerta[edit | edit source]

After the full team was formed, the Toa Yerta did the usual Toa stuff: beating bad guys, cracking lame puns, and talking to the tabloids. These shenanigans involved getting into a bar brawl with the exiled Koranis and rescuing a baby Muaka from a tree. They also participated in the Toa/Skakdi war that was instigated by Blackout and Malygos, fighting on Zakaz. When the Battle of Zakaz was won, Naterohk took an energy amplifier from a corpse of a Skakdi, renamed it the "Elemental Amplifier" to better suit her nature, and rebuilt it into a staff-like weapon with two large prongs.

When they heard that the Matoran Universe was to be made uninhabitable, Naterohk and her team used an experimental teleportation device that Tanrus took from Koranis, which allowed them to escape the impending doomsday. It worked, and they ended up on a random planet somewhere in the multiverse. Many years passed, during which they bullied Koranis again, fell into a plothole which led to the Unireverse, drove back to the main universe with Metax and briefly fought in the Battle of Mata Nui II. Eventually rumours reached the Yerta concerning the hostile takeover of the multiverse by the Great Beings. The Yerta decided to investigate by tracking down one of them, namely, Serecio. They entered his ship, but triggered an alarm, were taken to the deck by some robots, and were beaten up by Serecio. In a bizarre twist of fate, their lives were saved when Wing Justice and Strike Destiny brought their raging battle to the exterior of the Nakamura, which caused it to crash-land into the Icy Planet. The Yerta were thrown down one of the corridors as the gravity shifted and dunked in a pool of energized protodermis, which transformed their weapons, armour, and bodies into more powerful versions of their past selves. Unfortunately, not everyone survived the dunk: Ignika II didn't survive the transformation, much to Naterohk's dismay. Before she could mourn, she was tackled out of the way by Tanrus as Komerak's Nova Blast ability was accidentally triggered, which separated the Toa of Ice from the group for good.

After Naterohk and the remainder of her team took some time to recover from these events, they decided to do their part for the greater good once more and fight against a nightmare army belonging to the GBs for the sake of all reality at the Battle of Mordor. During the conflict, Naterohk fought bravely, taking out a large number of orcs and other GB soldiers with her comrades. When the battle was won, she thanked the Knights of the Keruvim for their assistance, and the Yerta journeyed on..

Two years after the war, Naterohk and the other three Toa Yerta were defeated and exiled to the UG by DU Monarch for an unknown reason.

Abilities & Powers[edit | edit source]

Elemental Powers[edit | edit source]

  • Water Creation: Naterohk can create blasts or constructs of water by projecting elemental Water energy from her hands or her Toa Tool.
  • Water Control: Naterohk has complete control over water, being able to create whirlpools in peaceful lakes or cause water to levitate in mid-air and form shapes with it.
  • Water Absorption: Naterohk can absorb certain amounts of water into her body, which become stored for use in future elemental attacks.
  • Water Nova Blast: In extreme circumstances, Naterohk can release all of her elemental energy in the form of a Water Nova Blast, which would be an explosion of water large enough to devastate an area the size of a large city.

Mask Powers[edit | edit source]

  • Translation: When activated, Naterohk's Kanohi Rau can instantly translate any spoken or written language known to the Great Beings.
