The Mikigami was a mech that Ryoko Hakubi used to combat Hina on the Dark Ocean Planet.

Description[edit | edit source]

The Mikigami was a huge, indigo-colored mecha that had a skull-shaped torso with large, angular sunglasses over the eyes and three serrated blades pointing up from the back of the head. It was equipped with a large pair of retractable chainsaw-treads exposed on the outer forearms that it could use as whips and rocket thrusters in the feet for manoeuvrability. Its name was visible on an engraved plate inside the cockpit.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

In 150,080 CMT, the Mikigami was discovered under the surface of the Dark Ocean Planet by Ryoko Hakubi when she was blasted into the ocean by a shockwave fired by Hina's battleship, the Tsukitaka. Once Ryoko had determined that the Mikigami was in a usable condition, she climbed into its cockpit and burst out of the ocean in control of the mech, proceeding to gloat about her discovery to Hina. In response to the new threat, Hina initiated the "Second Phase" of the Tsukitaka, transforming it into a similarly-sized mecha that began to charge up a destructive energy blast. By flipping a few switches and a control lever, Ryoko spun around one of the Mikigami's chainsaw-treads like a whip, which dug up a huge amount of dirt and deflected the Tsukitaka's energy blast into an artificial hill. Ryoko then retracted the whip to prepare for another attack, but Hina leaped forward in the Tsukitaka and ensnared the Mikigami using a lariat. Though Ryoko tried to shove the Tsukitaka off, she was unable to stop the enemy mech from spinning the Mikigami around and launching it across the battlefield, causing it to drig a trench with its momentum before slamming into another hill.[1]

After the Tsukitaka closed the distance between them, the Mikigami blocked a kick from the enemy mech with its chainsaw-treads and leaped forward in an attempt to shove the Tsukitaka back. Though the Tsukitaka deployed a multitude of laser cannons that it began to fire at the Mikigami, the Mikigami responded by spinning its chainsaw-treads at such high speeds that the laser cannons were slashed through and destroyed, causing explosive damage to the enemy mech. The Tsukitaka was forced to raise its forearms in order to defend itself, but Ryoko continued the assault by using its rocket thrusters to land on the Tsukitaka and tear at its armor with her chainsaw-treads.[1] By this point, the damage sustained by both mechs was so great that Hina decided to activate the Tsukitaka's subspace retreat protocol before Ryoko could get to her, disappearing with the Tsukitaka through a black portal. After taking a moment to vent her frustration at the fact that Hina had escaped, Ryoko left the Mikigami, which was then beamed up by Tsunami-fune, so that she could look for Ryo-Ohki by flying freely over the ocean.[2]
