Maxilos robots are large robotic guardians that serve the Order of the Great Beings.

Description[edit | edit source]

Each Maxilos is made from a combination of protosteel and stands at around twelve feet tall. They are intensely loyal to recognized Great Beings and Order of Mata Nui members, and will follow through their orders without question unless they are given an order that violates their programming. Due to their inability to think and speak for themselves beyond following or reciting simple commands, they are not considered to be sentient beings.

The energy source that powers the Maxilos is some kind of "black fire", which they can also channel through their swords and use to attack their enemies. In addition to these swords, Maxilos are usually equipped with shoulder-mounted Cordak Blasters. Their armor is airtight to protect them from water, gases, or other elements that could leak through and damage their internal systems. They are also extremely strong.

History[edit | edit source]

Order of Mata Nui[edit | edit source]

The Maxilos were created on the island of Artakha in the early days of the Matoran Universe to guard the Pit. Artakha gave the Maxilos to the Order of Mata Nui, who employed the Maxilos to guard the Pit and their own headquarters on Daxia.

In the Battle of Zev's HQ, Kakamu knocked a rival Makuta named Jerok off his steed and threw him down to the battlefield. Jerok's armor was immediately crushed by a rampaging Gnoll captain, but he survived in antidermis form and searched for a new body to occupy, eventually coming across and possessing a Maxilos robot. He decided to track down Kakamu to get revenge, but when he found him, Kakamu destroyed the Maxilos with a Jetrax T6. Jerok's antidermis escaped from the destroyed Maxilos but evaporated before he could find a new body.[1]

Most of the Maxilos were destroyed along with the rest of the Matoran Universe by forces belonging to Blackout.

Order of the Great Beings[edit | edit source]

In 150,082 CMT, it was revealed that the Order of the Great Beings continued to use Maxilos robots as prison guards elsewhere in the universe. Shadow Storm sent a Maxilos robot and a Dalek to guard Coro's prison cell when Coro was arrested and imprisoned during the Uterio War.[2] The Maxilos eventually commented that it was surprised that Coro had not tried to escape yet, so Coro clarified that, although he could have escaped any time he wanted, he chose not to because he was in a period of self-exile. Coro then grabbed the Maxilos's neck through the bars and crushed it in his hand, destroying the Maxilos.[3]
