The Lunar Priestess, nicknamed Lunie, was a high-ranking member of the Lunar Fang Guild.

Description[edit | edit source]

The Lunar Priestess was a tall, female anthropomorphic wolf with thick, scruffy, dull-white fur who stood taller than Trance even with her bowed frame. She wore ragged but formfitting black leather armor and carried a black wooden staff that was topped with a carved crescent moon fashioned out of gray stone.[1]

History[edit | edit source]

In 150,082 CMT, the Lunar Priestess followed the fellow Lunar Fang Guild member Trance to Kerodan Pass on Drackovack, where Trance had picked a fight with Dario Nethneth. Dario recognized the Lunar Priestess and surmised that she had come because the Lunar Fang Guild was invested in Trance's safety. The Lunar Priestess called Dario a fool for neglecting to consume enough calories beforehand to maintain his Beast Mode transformation, and whacked him in the ribs with her staff as he reverted to his standard Ctarl-Ctarl form, sending him sprawling across the ground. She then emitted a spell from her staff in an attempt to unwind the tree roots that had restrained Trance.[1] However, she was interrupted by Elric, who demanded reparations from the Lunar Priestess because her subordinate had trespassed on their property and had attacked Jackieranda.[2] In response, the Lunar Priestess acknowledged that Trance was an "impudent child" and proceeded to punish him by beating him repeatedly with her staff, especially because he had defied orders to stick with his group and to stay away from Kerodan.[3]

Once she had finished enacting her punishment upon Trance, the Lunar Priestess swore on the name of the "Millennium Castle Brunestud" that she would make up for whatever inconvenience that Trance had caused for Elric and Jackieranda. Dario warned Elric and Jackieranda not to trust the Lunar Priestess, which prompted her to explain that, though she had admittedly "betrayed a lot of folks" in the past, she merely wanted to take Trance and regroup with the other Lunar Fang Guild members on the planet so that they could all leave. The Lunar Priestess added that, though Trance was an excellent combatant, his accursed sword and its Madness Enchantment would be the death of him because the sword had become so attached to him that, if it was removed from his ownership, it would lash out and kill perfectly good servants, as it had done prior.[3] The Lunar Priestess then retrieved Trance and quipped "I'm terribly sorry... that the Ctarl-Ctarl is still alive", referring to Dario, and disappeared with Trance in an explosive teleportation.[4]
