Kyros is an inhabited planet in the Kyloren system and one of the main territories of the Republic of Luria.

History[edit | edit source]

Kyros and its sister planet Kyras were both colonized by the Republic of Luria at the same time in the early days of the Republic's existence. Though the colonization effort progressed at the same rate across both worlds, Kyras was chosen to become the Republic's official homeworld instead of Kyros. The two planets continued to develop at approximately the same rate well into the present, by which time the moons of both worlds had also been fully colonized, but Kyros gained two more space colonies than Kyras at a total of 36 as opposed to Kyras's 34.[1]

During the political instability that swept the Republic before the rise of Gabriel Ascheron, Kyros almost went to war with Kyras. Though such a civil war was averted, relations between the two worlds remained cold through to at least 150,084 CMT. However, those living in the colonies of Kyros and Kyras were left mostly unaffected by the political turmoil of their parent worlds.[1]

[...] The Kyloren system is notable for its twin habitable planets, Kyras and Kyros. Kyros was colonized early on in the Republic's existence, to the extent that the two planets are practically identical in terms of development. During the political instability before Ascheron's rule, the two worlds nearly engaged in civil war against each other. Even today, the relationship between the populations of the two worlds is, at best, cold. Those living in the colonies, however, are not affected by this."
