Koranis is a tyrannical warrior who is of the same species as the Glatorian of Bara Magna. The Great Beings chose him to rule the island of Nynrah due to his leadership skills, but he was eventually deposed by the Makuta known as Kakamu. Koranis escaped the Matoran Universe only to be defeated by the Toa Yerta and sent to Supermax 282. Many years later, he escaped to Mordor, where the Great Beings recruited him once again to be the co-pilot of a new Great Spirit Robot.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Koranis is tall and bipedal, with dark red muscle in place of skin. The lower parts of his arms and legs are fused with advanced, black machinery, and his chest is covered with curved armour that is fused to his flesh. His armour was originally black and gold, though it has since been spray-painted bright orange and marked with a code by the Supermax 282 staff.

History[edit | edit source]

Over a hundred thousand years old, Koranis fought in the Core War on the side of the Fire Tribe, and was noted as having exceptional leadership skills by the Great Beings. Knowing that the planet's demise was soon, the GBs offered Koranis a job ruling over the inhabitants of an island inside the giant robot they were building. Not wanting to die with the planet, Koranis said yes, and so was handed over to the Order of Mata Nui. Helryx agreed to make Koranis the protector of Nynrah.

He held the title for millennia, until a Brotherhood of Makuta operative named Kakamu arrived to evaluate the island's technological development. Because of his tyrannical nature, the Nynrah Ghosts worked in secret underneath the island, unknown to Koranis. Knowing that Kakamu would find Nynrah in need of support, Koranis confronted him aggressively and demanded the Makuta leave his island. Kakamu ignored his threat and decided to test out his recently-gained Makuta abilities on the tyrant. An intense close-combat battle ensued, which ended in Koranis's defeat and banishment. As a result, Kakamu won the praise of the Nynrah Ghosts, who helped him set up his lab there in return.

Koranis wandered the Matoran Universe in exile up until its destruction, before which he managed to escape using technology he had traded for on Stelt. He appeared on a nearby planet elsewhere in the multiverse along with the Toa Yerta, who had escaped by similar means. They recognized his description and fought him immediately. He held his own with his melee skills, but was ultimately no match for their elemental powers and was sealed inside a Toa Seal. He was then taken into custody by the Galactic Government and delivered to Supermax 282.

He remained at Supermax 282 for years, until one day he overheard a ragtag group of newcomers' plans to escape. He participated in their escape attempt, using a sword forged from steel cutlery he had collected during his stay to fight off the guards. He was the one who drove their escape vehicle (a garbage truck) out of Supermax 282, but once the coast was clear, he disconnected the skip part of the ship that the others were in and sped off into the cosmos. A few hours later, he crashed the truck outside the Great Beings' fortress on Mordor, and demanded to see them. He was knocked out by Viruel, who decided to recruit him as a pilot for a new Great Spirit Robot she was working on.
