Kino Raregroove is the mother of Misaki Raregroove and the grandmother of Zev Raregroove.

History[edit | edit source]

Kino Raregroove took it upon herself to train her grandson, Zev Raregroove, as a shaman. However, whenever Zev frustrated her, she would attack him with a rapid-fire martial arts technique known as the "Inn Hostess Slap". Hiyori Sarugaki copied this technique and modified it into her "Super Slipper Impact".[1] When Kino's onsen was destroyed in an unknown event, her granddaughter Tamao Glory was tasked with overseeing its repair.[2]

At the conclusion of a two-year period where Tamao had been enthralled by Harusame and had gone on a madness-induced rampage, Kino and her husband Yohmei Glory were able to track her down and break through Harusame's hold over her long enough to get her to surrender the sword. However, it still took Tamao years of training as an ascetic monk and as an itako to fully recover from Harusame and regain control of all of her senses.[2]

In 150,081 CMT, Namah told Rutherfor about the period where Harusame was controlling Tamao, recalling Kino's involvement in the events.[2] Anna Raregroove later recalled that Kino "always knew what to say to calm spirits".[3]

In 150,082 CMT, an artificial intelligence integrated into a tram on Jurai informed Ulkesh and Chirox that Emperor Azusa often confers with his in-laws, Kino Raregroove and Yohmei Glory, in regards to how he runs Jurai.[4]
