Kek Kug was a member of the Kug Family Clan who joined the Tiger Youth to overthrow his corrupt grandfather's regime.

History[edit | edit source]

By 150,084 CMT, Kek Kug was the last remaining member of the Kug Family Clan on Rhadan who was still sympathetic to the plight of the common Rhadani. It is for this reason that Kek was one of the hundreds of rebels who were contacted by Sinjon Wol, the leader of the Wol Rebels, and drafted into a new rebel movement named the Tiger Youth to overthrow the corrupt regime established by Kek's grandfather, Gaon Kug. Kek was asked to meet up with the other rebels in the underground catacombs near the palace and to bring as many explosives as possible.[1] Kek did as Sinjon asked and met up with the others with explosives at nightfall. He helped to connect their explosives together with a flammable putty and used grappling hooks to climb to the underneath of the palace, which was above them on the roof of the cavern, and attach their bombs to it.[2]

Once the bombs had been detonated, Kek followed Sinjon by climbing up the debris into the bottom of the palace.[3] Sinjon then informed Kek that, once Gaon had been deposed, Kek would need to confirm his inheritance as the next heir to the throne and disregard it in order to allow the people of Rhadan a democratic vote as to who would succeed Gaon as their ruler. In preparation for the task ahead, Sinjon returned to Kek a traditional Kug family weapon that he had acquired: a double-barrelled shotgun that fired superheated pieces of rebar. Kek accepted the weapon and proceeded to the throne room with Sinjon, where the two rebels found Gaon already writhing in agony from the poisoned food that Doug the Slug had fed him. Once the two Kugs had finished hurling insults at each other, Kek attempted to force his grandfather to relinquish the throne by threatening to "deng deng" him to hell if he did not. However, Gaon refused, so Kek blew out his grandfather's brains with the Kug Rebar Shotgun. The execution was witnessed by Kek's cousin Dakk Dak, who admitted that he had gotten lost inside the palace but congratulated Kek.[4]

Even though Gaon had been killed, Kek pointed out that there were still loyalists around the palace to deal with, but Sinjon assured him that the resistance had already won. Sinjon proved his point by making a grand speech from the balcony of the throne room in which he announced that Gaon was dead and that his followers would account for their crimes, forcing the loyalists to surrender. Kek was so amazed by Sinjon's diplomacy that he nominated him for the new ruler of their nation, but Sinjon refused. Regardless, Kek decided that he would allow himself to be elected king if that was the will of the people, and that he would want Sinjon to be his royal advisor if such a result came to pass. While the rebels pondered the future of their nation, Kek helped Sinjon and Dakk lift up Gaon's corpse and threw it over the balcony, letting it splatter over the grounds below to extinguish any morale that the loyalists still had.[5]
