Dume was the Turaga of Metru Nui in the Dark Mirror Universe.

History[edit | edit source]

Dark Mirror[edit | edit source]

Dume was the ruling Turaga of Metru Nui when Toa Tuyet came into ownership of the Nui Stone. When she tried to use it to take over Metru Nui, Dume stood up to her, telling her that her lack of mercy and sense of justice meant that she would never be a true Toa. Because of this, Tuyet had him frozen in a stasis pod in the Metru Nui Archives while she established a new Toa Empire.[1]

3500 years later, Dume was found and freed by Takua and Takanuva, who wanted to enlist his help in a rebellion against Tuyet.[1] However, they were immediately captured by a group of Makuta led by Teridax, who asked to know what they were all doing in the Archives. Thankfully, the members of both groups agreed that Tuyet was a common enemy, and Dume and Teridax counted themselves in to Takanuva's rebellion.[2]

In the Battle at the Coliseum, Dume was drafted into a platoon led by Teridax that also included Krika, Kojol, and Takua. Dume and his allies charged into battle from the east. Incredibly, he survived.[3]

Dusk and Dawn[edit | edit source]

When Dume heard the news that Tuyet had been killed, he announced that the remaining leaders of the rebellion and the Toa Empire should meet with him in Ta-Metru to discuss the future of their world.[4] Pohatu, Krika, Ancient, and the Shadowed One represented the rebellion in the meeting, and Onua, Nidhiki, Karzahni, and two other Toa represented what remained of the Toa Empire. Makuta Teridax, however, chose to side with neither faction; instead choosing to represent himself. Dume started the meeting by suggesting that they form a council to calmly elect the new leaders of the Matoran Universe, but most of the others disagreed, especially Onua, who thought he should resurrect the Empire to save Mata Nui. Dume tried to educate Onua on the fact that Tuyet had poisoned his mind, but this only worsened the tension in the room and the meeting soon devolved into chaos.[5]

Once Dume had had enough of the bickering of the other dignitaries, he decided that he will be the leader of this new Council and sit on the sidelines while the others fought each other in a pointless war; and the winner of that war would then have to face him and his Toa to decide who would rule the universe. The others agreed with this motion,[5] so Dume adjourned the meeting and left the building with his face in his hands.[6]
