Dragon D. Monkey (Monkey D. Dragon in Eastern order) was the notorious intergalactic criminal who led the Revolutionary Army.

History[edit | edit source]

Life & Career[edit | edit source]

Though most of the details of Dragon's life and career are unknown to us, he was at one time notorious enough to become known as "The Worst Criminal in the Universe". For a time, the bounty placed on his head was the largest ever placed on a man by the Galactic Government. He was said to be a warrior on par with his father, the legendary Garp D. Monkey, and Fleet Admiral Sengoku of the Space Marines. Eventually, Dragon came to lead the Revolutionary Army, an organization of rebels who opposed the Galactic Government in every way possible. One of Dragon's closest allies during this period of activity was Emporio Ivankov, ruler of the Kamabakka Kingdom.

Over the years, the Revolutionaries became less proactive in their attacks against the Galactic Government. Dragon mostly faded into obscurity, but remained active behind the scenes. His attacks continued, but became more subtle.

The Mazkertis Paradox[edit | edit source]

In 150,084 CMT, Dragon D. Monkey was one of the many prominent figures of the Revolutionary Army who accepted Emporio Ivankov's invitation to celebrate the Galactic Government's dissolution with him on Momoiro. Upon arriving at the meeting place and seeing Ivankov for the first time in many years, Dragon burst into laughter and went to hug him and the other rebels in celebration. Dragon motioned to raise his glass, but a sudden tremor knocked it out of his hand. When Dragon went to investigate the source of the tremor by looking out of the window, he discovered that the land was actually being rocked by explosions: YONBOTS were dropping bombs as far as the eye could see. Dragon opened the doors to the chaos, yelled a battle cry and charged at the attackers, but was stopped short when a YONBOT burned a hole through his chest with a charged optic blast. Dragon briefly reflected on his wasted life, clutching the hole where his heart once was, and died.[1]

Dragon's corpse sank into Momoiro's ocean when the island's foundations were destroyed by the YONBOTS.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • It is unknown if Dragon actually appeared in the BZPB RPG or not; he probably did before the early archives were deleted in the Great Dataclysm. His earliest surviving appearance in BZPB canon was when he was mentioned as the leader of the Revolutionary Army in its wiki page, which was published on December 23, 2009‎. User:Kon kept Dragon as the leader of the Revolutionaries when he included them in Chapter 12 of The Mazkertis Paradox.
  • It seems that, in original BZPB canon, Dragon was the father of Zev Raregroove, and was called "Dragon D. Raregroove". User:Zev later backpedalled on this, saying that Dragon was the apparent father of Raregroove, but eventually removed the connection altogether, changing Dragon's name to just "Dragon D.". Kon later confirmed that Dragon's last name was "Monkey", as it was in the original work, to avoid confusion.
