The Bluemarines Corporation is a paramilitary organization commanded by Model 17.

History[edit | edit source]

In 150,082 CMT, the Bluemarines Corporation created a Trojan horse in the form of a small, battered ship that broadcasted a distress signal. The crew of Datrio Moonbase Scorpio discovered the ship and brought it into the base through an airlock to investigate; scans for life were also made but turned up negative. Around 20 personnel approached the ship to open the hatch to begin their investigation, but arcs of energy exploded from the hatch that knocked them unconscious. Two camouflaged mecha then emerged from the ship and held the remaining personnel at gunpoint while Model 17 appeared on the stations' monitors to make his demands. Model 17 informed the crew of Moonbase Scorpio that their base was now under the control of the Bluemarines Corporation, but promised to spare their lives as long as they agreed to dedicate their resources to the Bluemarines' goals. However, the commander of Moonbase Scorpio came forward and told Model 17 that his brain was hooked up to the base's self-destruct protocols, which would activate if he willed it or if he was killed first.[1]

Meanwhile, a Bluemarines-controlled mobile suit attacked a Galactic Government space station, which then sent a distress signal to Station Libra to warn them of the threat. The commander of Station Libra, Rex Do'org, addressed the pilot of the mobile suit in a transmission that ordered them to disarm its combat systems and surrender into custody, or his men would open fire, but the vessel ignored Rex's ultimatum and proceeded towards Station Libra. Rex ordered his men to power up Station Libra's Massive-Range Cannonry, and Thaya brought up a visual of the mobile suit, which Rex identified as belonging to the Bluemarines Corporation. Station Libra's destruction of the mobile suit created an explosion so intense that Thaya guessed that it must have been carrying at least three warheads of depleted ether. Rex expressed his dismay that Bluemarines had gone rogue, but Thaya was not surprised because "he" (presumably referring to Model 17) was "as sketchy as they come".[2]
